  1. Had a fish around with a magnet and found nothing so started other investigations, disconnected the cable and that was fine, tapped the end of the shaft going into the box and solid so took out this top bolt to find a spring underneath at which point everything freed off a little so a bit of lube and hammer tapping everything freed off till I could change from high to low with 1 finger. Put it all back together again and locked solid, took the spring out and a little tap, Back to being free again. Soooooo, what's it for what it do and do I need to put it back or can I just leave it out. Over to you Bob.....😉
  2. She's a 10 500 k nd valtra about 180 -190 hp, loving having controls for the spout in the cab at the flick of a switch compared to the older 1 which was all manual. To me it's almost like having a day off playing with someone elses toys.
  3. Me too today John, helping a friend out running his chipper while he was on child care duties. 10 of these loades, level with the top is 32m3 so with the little extra I fitted on top I'd think we will have got 350m3 done in 6hrs.
  4. Who you getting to do it for that price as that is incredibly cheep for a mewp lola test compared to what I'm paying for mine.
  5. I'm sure I can come up with something next week 😉
  6. Good reserection bud 👍
  7. Proper job bud, looks a really handy bit of gear if it can lift sections like that onto your trailer, saves a lot of cutting up and lifting 👍
  8. Proper crack on job to get done. Lots of chip because if it fitted into the st8 it went in to get rid and I need as much clean chip as I can get at the moment
  9. Problem with attaching to the tractor draw bar is your placing pull directory onto the tractor whereas using another point as discussed or back onto the winch itself will place very little pull onto the tractor as long as the but plate is correctly and securely anchored as you'd be surprised how little force is transferred into the arms once it's dug in.
  10. Got on site at about 10.30 off by 3. Was a bit of a crash down on path side then mewp and speed line the two stems still going towards the properties, deceptively big tree as got about 11m3 of chip out of it, I was glad I stuck the ifor behind the landy as well as the rb.
  11. Looks fun, nice tidy bit of rigging 👍
  12. Bit of a emergency job today, big pop had shed a rather large limb onto a house, the homeowner had got a mate with a 3cx to lift it off before we arrived but the rest of the tree had to go due to a few more cracks in the main union. Dave the dog dropped what he was doing and came and smashed it down while I chipped and rigged like a mad man. Truck full and 3/4 of a trailer load of chip but left timber in stealable sizes so hopefully that'll go before Monday 👍
  13. Keeping kit locked up and out of sight and not all just dumped in a heap is what I'm thinking, would be excellent for emergency works where everything is just there where you put it ready.
  14. No its a shovel empty job, was thinking of making it a tipper more for hedge cutting season than chip or stump grindings rather than taking the rb or big trailer. Looks a good back on it and that's what I'm now thinking of fitting just as a kit truck and take the big ifor.
  15. Yeh but it was 6" too high to go into the shed and I felt running the log splitter on it was a little overkill 😜
  16. No came from local old massy dealers. http://www.qftractors.com/
  17. Standard hcb on twin cab with homemade box on top, was my 1st chip truck nd had it nearly 12years nd just keep earning me £££ works hard but gets looked after well too. Only pick I could find on my phone.
  18. It'll sit up about 120mm more i think, been mulling over putting tipping gear under my hcb but at moment quite fancy getting a quadtech body on and just running her as a gear and towing truck as looking back it's only been chipped into about 4 times in the last year.
  19. My little loader tractor filling containers with chip to go off for biomass.
  20. Last time I had to do a double line pull with the big farmi winch I ended up wrapping a Big chain around the whole but plate and fetch the cable end back to that which worked really well.
  21. Swap jobs around to something that isn't as bad to do while getting badly soaked, also depends on who's in that day nd if a job is time or hired in kit sensitive. Saying that now I have a loader tractor in the yard yesterday when it was tipping it down and cold I scooped up a load of timber nd shifted it inside to set about doing a few logs. Must be getting soft.
  22. Just changed the blades and bolts today after a few rough jobs where the blades were realy quite beat up, was feeling quite down about the state of them till I opened up the package of new 1ns and found hidden away inside a nice chocolate boost which cheered me up a bit then seeing her chip like a beast again really put a smile on my face 👍redwood 👍
  23. Come on Ian you must have some pictures to tease us with by now, how's she looking?
  24. Ooh new toy coming to play with, get some picks up when it lands.
  25. They look snotty horrible trees ham. Plenty of timber to shift!
