  1. She's brilliant, could sometimes do with a bit more outreach but won't matter what you have it will always be the same but at least it can off-road to get closer and has the benefit of still having 3.5ton tow capacity to take the chip trailer or chipper to site.
  2. Is that a road tow hydraulic driven 10" farmi chipper? Wow never seen 1 set up like that before on a trailer. Fantastic pto machine and used a few different variations but never 1 on a trailer, what's it like?
  3. For once I was on the ground working the brash rat duties today as got to keep trim else I could overload the bucket 😉 Having a big drop zone helps just a bit steady to start with getting rid of the branches over the road half of which were dead and nicely shattered on contact with the ground!
  4. What hp are you running Tom? Very nicely set up unit! Never the fastest chippers on the market but once they have hold its going in weather it wants too or not! Do you have the pressurised top roller option on that 1 as well.
  5. Almost bud, definitely worth having being able to speed things up and make them safer, it changes how you look at jobs and how you go about taking a tree apart but once you are aware of how to get the best out of the boom it's so easy to use.
  6. Nice roadside ash dismantle today made easier by having lots of space behind and plenty of kit on site, on site at 10 all down and loaded by 12.30 and on the the next section of the site, she was ment to be a yard tractor but the little massy did herself proud loading the timber which saved a whole bunch of cutting up. 👍
  7. Use a similar technique with a stump cut a little high if we are working a section of woodland for a while. Dig the dogs into the stump also helps hold it steady.
  8. Why use blood pressure when you can use hydraulic pressure 😉
  9. This 1 just about manages but if all I was doing was feeding the chipper I'd go smaller as I reckon if I had a mental fart and opened it inside the hopper I could rip the thing clean off, personally for what you want I'd give Billy a call at Rico tockwith nd get 1 of those little grabs they got ment for 1.5tonners.
  10. Yes small plunger at bottom which seems to be what is actually sticking, just been trying to get it to move freely again but each time I push it down with an Allen key it sticks down and requires a tap on the end of the shaft a few times to get it to shift again. Put a bit of duck oil in to hopefully work into it and allow it to move again. Time to go home nd find some tea and see what it's like in the morning. Thanks for your help 👍
  11. Fantastic plan which in the long run you won't regret, iv seen a few budget mog projects fail simply because of trying to do it on the cheep rather than properly.
  12. Good update, nice to have plenty on but frustrating when a project is slowed down by having to actually work, all helps pay for it though
  13. Had a fish around with a magnet and found nothing so started other investigations, disconnected the cable and that was fine, tapped the end of the shaft going into the box and solid so took out this top bolt to find a spring underneath at which point everything freed off a little so a bit of lube and hammer tapping everything freed off till I could change from high to low with 1 finger. Put it all back together again and locked solid, took the spring out and a little tap, Back to being free again. Soooooo, what's it for what it do and do I need to put it back or can I just leave it out. Over to you Bob.....😉
  14. She's a 10 500 k nd valtra about 180 -190 hp, loving having controls for the spout in the cab at the flick of a switch compared to the older 1 which was all manual. To me it's almost like having a day off playing with someone elses toys.
  15. Me too today John, helping a friend out running his chipper while he was on child care duties. 10 of these loades, level with the top is 32m3 so with the little extra I fitted on top I'd think we will have got 350m3 done in 6hrs.
  16. Who you getting to do it for that price as that is incredibly cheep for a mewp lola test compared to what I'm paying for mine.
  17. I'm sure I can come up with something next week 😉
  18. Proper job bud, looks a really handy bit of gear if it can lift sections like that onto your trailer, saves a lot of cutting up and lifting 👍
  19. Proper crack on job to get done. Lots of chip because if it fitted into the st8 it went in to get rid and I need as much clean chip as I can get at the moment
  20. Problem with attaching to the tractor draw bar is your placing pull directory onto the tractor whereas using another point as discussed or back onto the winch itself will place very little pull onto the tractor as long as the but plate is correctly and securely anchored as you'd be surprised how little force is transferred into the arms once it's dug in.
  21. Got on site at about 10.30 off by 3. Was a bit of a crash down on path side then mewp and speed line the two stems still going towards the properties, deceptively big tree as got about 11m3 of chip out of it, I was glad I stuck the ifor behind the landy as well as the rb.
  22. Looks fun, nice tidy bit of rigging 👍
  23. Bit of a emergency job today, big pop had shed a rather large limb onto a house, the homeowner had got a mate with a 3cx to lift it off before we arrived but the rest of the tree had to go due to a few more cracks in the main union. Dave the dog dropped what he was doing and came and smashed it down while I chipped and rigged like a mad man. Truck full and 3/4 of a trailer load of chip but left timber in stealable sizes so hopefully that'll go before Monday 👍
  24. Keeping kit locked up and out of sight and not all just dumped in a heap is what I'm thinking, would be excellent for emergency works where everything is just there where you put it ready.
