  1. Just ordered a set today 170+vat + 11postage
  2. The leg definitely makes a difference from the 1 I've used which didn't have 1 to help over stumps and pulling stuff about, realy tidy job you leave 👍top job.
  3. Going to steal that 1 rich, like it👍
  4. That groundy is a fair unit, human forwarder I'd say! Love working on cedres, so nice to cut.
  5. To Dalton trees, very connected overlapping root plates in this location and quite a few older stumps which would have given an entry point between 5 and 10years ago, also when the houses were built 25 years ago the lower edge of the root zone will have been dug away which is when the trees were all tpo'd not conservation area. The ground has been heavily waterlogged each winter for some time now and gets a lot of runoff from the road above so probably getting a reasonable amount of salt added into the mix. Cheers Paul I'll have a good look at the fc stuff again later. Look like it could be a bore test on the nearest largest tree to see what it looks like.
  6. My artistic flare unfortunately won't stretch to drawing, sorry 😉
  7. That's not true the tanks swing open and you'd be able to do the belts in about an hour nd half but in 400hrs ish never needed to change them. Blades are realy easy taking about 20min and are incredibly cheep. Now run a st8 which so far in 140hrs is fantastic.
  8. If your mostly domestic I'd go quadchip, had 1 for 3years and a fantastic machine, only got rid as needed a bigger machine for comersial and we sell chip and have bigger vehicles to cope, the turntable was a really big asset and I do miss having 1 now. Ideal world the bandit would be my choice as heavy duty with long life and excellent resale value should you want to change. As for tracked if you only occasionally need it hire 1 when you do to save a heap of unnecessary maintenance and weight to tow around when you don't need it. Why not a forst st8 of jensen 540 both hard hitting machines.
  9. Better of with something like this if it's brambles and not too heavy thick stuff especially in-between remaining trees as it's so much more manoeuvrable and lower ground pressure for less compaction or rutting.
  10. Gave mine a good trim on Friday, down from about a 6 to a 3 nd my old clippers didn't realy appreciate it, could have done with one of these.
  11. As said the guy's in greenmech,s service dep are top notch and will happily help over the phone while you do the reset, worth making a note of the sequence in your op manual incase you want to fine tune or reset again in the future. Could be simply the reves are dropping a bit low and then kicking in again a little too soon, it won't take a lot to make a big difference. Keep us posted how you get on.
  12. Couldn't see any fruiting bodies but if it's the suggested fugi it's apparently biannual so could be a dormant year?
  13. Think your correct Spruce pirate. Just looked up the fc research papers on it and it's definitely going to affect the remaining trees either now or in the future by the sounds of it. Problem with sounding the tree is it won't always cause a hollow as the cellulose is digested but leave a soft spongy centre so without going to expense of ultrasound a core sample would determine the extent particularly on the heavily side weighted trees towards the house.
  14. Good idea but budget brand here!
  15. Scary ain't it! Course's constant battles where we have to justify and provide evidence far more than I do to any other lpa official who can see what's blatantly obvious to anyone with a clue!
  16. A client had this tree fail with quite significant but rot present which extends around 4ft up the trunk, as you can see from the pictures the rear garden is like a forest and I'm concerned that the rest of the trees due to the connection of roots will also be infected as iv see in some forestry stands so increase the likelihood of further failing trees. Out tree officer who has no arb quals and referred to these Spruce as Christmas trees advised them it'd be fine and it'd be an isolated problem, I beg to differ so would appreciate some others input.
  17. Possibly 1drives 1 side and 1 the other I guess giving almost skid steer steering if needed??
  18. Unfortunately once the greenery go's in its not as far.
  19. We had a gm150 when our qc was in for work and we managed to get it to fill the box by firing the chip at the box roof so it could bounce forward which actually worked quite well. If you look at the spec sheet it's actually got quite a slow router speed compared to most of the competition machines, good machine though!
  20. 26degrees in our lounge tonight according to daughters thermometer, almost too hot with the squirrel lit!
  21. Ah just you wate till they get to 5 and the real fun starts.
  22. Better of getting this for 19k new and ditching it after 3years
  23. Wouldn't want to have to log that lot up John! Plogs would love that in his yard!
  24. Knackered now from chasing 5 year Olds round a big soft play area/assault course knees are killing me now! But at least we didn't need to rescue any stuck well endowed mums this year Jon. How was your nephew s do Jon?
