  1. Only good for 20-50hp and unless you have a hydrostatic drive tractor in that hp range you will knacker your clutch quit quickly or have a rather sore left knee very quickly, wouldn't fancy trying to take on a big stump with it as you'd be limited by having to reverse almost onto it with 1 wheel and getting a big build up of grindings on the same side.
  2. Was looking at this earlier today matty as though it would be very useful for exactly what you are describing and with the crane at the back it'd be able to reverse into somewhere and clear up as it go's https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F132343216811
  3. Bet that 5th wheel pin was under a bit of pain pulling that lot!
  4. Carnt beet this as you'll never run out of fuel on a tree job for it. Got same as picture but also got the bigger twin hob version for family camping trips, boils water far faster than any normal gass stove and can be controlled very easily. Soup, stew, curry, bacon and eggs, chilly like Steve said a nice Aldi steak which is still cheaper than a service station soggy sandwich and a lot nicer in crusty bread.
  5. So are ones who can keep a saw sharp!
  6. Nice trailer Valtra lend themselves to having cranes mounted on them with good hydraulics, long frames, low center of gravity and turning seats as standard, I'd personally always want 6 pots with a min 130hp something in the 8000 range would do nicely without being rediculous priced although the larger ones still hold the money.
  7. Some serious flair on this sycamores stump
  8. No but the wife is!
  9. Interesting end to the day, winching a split ash back away from a road in the dark, council wouldn't let us leave it till daylight. It fair broke up when it hit the deck but no tidy up [emoji106]
  10. Build the business strong enough so I can run it not be it, that and part time training and accessing.
  11. It gets more use than I thought it would when I got it and recently I've thought it will be good to combine it with the bandit winch to shift big chunks of brash or timber without it digging into lawns or getting covered in mud. I'd hate to think how many times we have decided not to bother taking it as it's a pain to transport then wished we had it, but now it rides for free and is there when needed.
  12. Steel floor notched out for forwarding trailer to make wedging in small awkward bits easier and easier to carry the pto chipper to site on occasions.
  13. Bit of a workshop day today, added a storage box and somewhere to store/transport the arbor-trolley out of the way.
  14. Some really big gusts about 5 this morning, tree was in a poor state so not surprising. Winch power made things a bit easier.
  15. Nice start to the day, at least it's daylight
  16. The second image is fantastic, I do wonder how it affects the trees being flooded like that.
  17. Creative thinking [emoji106]
  18. Joy of joys today, a beech snapped of at about 20ft and landed almost upside down on the road wiping out 2 sets of signs, some interesting tension and compression picking this apart. And this is what the tree thought of it all [emoji56]
  19. It didn't really, paintwork was crap and pealing and had a few cracks in feed hopper on crap welds and a bent hub, we had already had the spout strengthened after it almost blown through. After nearly a year of chasing them I eventually lost it nd got them to take it in for repair, after 12weeks and story's of panels not getting re painted properly/needing redoing I lost it again so they rebuild it with all new parts and made a very good job of it out of courtesy but by this time I'd decided to go bigger and ordered a bandit so need to sell the forst to buy a smaller chipper as well.
  20. Tell him I have a fully factory rebuild 2year old st8 for sale, basically it's a brand new machine with a 400hr hr engine in it if he fancys making a big saving on a new one
  21. Fair enough, would like something similar for smaller jobs. Thanks, they are really proving to be a great decision to speed up jobs.
  22. You sir have obviously never had to deal with post natal depression, believe me if it seems to work you will try it as I wouldn't wish it on any family, coupled with ptsd from wrongly being told our 2nd would be luck to make 3 years ( he's now 6 and doing well) my support lies firmly with sloth on this one.
  23. Have you renamed the company Ian, though you were target trees. Van looks tidy. [emoji106]
  24. A little video from yesterday while clearing a strip through a private woodland for a zip wire.
  25. Unfortunately not used a p38 only ever the bigger preditors but at the moment I'm thinking it is better than the old rayco rg1635 tracked machine I spent a lot of time on. Everything is very easy to service and grease, belts are a doddle to check and Tighten as it's on a idler and not having to slide bairings or the engine to do it anymore. A big plus for me is the controls swing from the back out to either side so when we are working roadside I can stand whichever side gives me best sight line. Tracking is very quick so if you have a multi stump site your not wasting time and fuel getting from 1 to next especially if it's spread out around say a golf course.
