  1. Well done sir, as they say good things come to those who work there arse off to get to where they want to be. sounds a mint deal you got offered so enjoy, still a shame you aint coming north, might have to get gustharts to book you in a celebrity spot for next years climbing comp they put on.
  2. ah thats a problem as mine is shaft driven which will give me 5 speed but means you have to be in the cab to work it.
  3. I think thay are putting it off as they know how good the battery powered saw will be when they get that to market as this could change everthing!
  4. How did you get a h14 to be remote controle with it all beimg macanical, being able to control the winch from a distance is the only thing I miss about my old electric winch and if there is an easy way of converting a h14 ill be most interested.
  5. Why take the stairs when you can srt it
  6. Dont use them once they get dull, even to a scotsman the pain of paying for a new blade will be less than the pain of dragging a dull blade into flesh after pushing hard to make it cut, but keep the old blade for ivy on old stumps or walls. Dont try and catch it when you drop it as you will always grab the sharp bit!
  7. Hell yes, well made frames are almost a work of art in there own wright the skill involved in getting such large joints so tight is deftly a gift
  8. W dale and son at ripon have a large horizontal grinder chipper type thing that would destroy everything a 360 could feed into it or richard blaky from kirby with either tractor mounted mulcher or 15ton 360 with mulching head should deal with anything on your site and in your area
  9. Deft oak, I cut it down. Belt sandre for the top then lots of hand work, bark shaped over with flap disk and draw knife to take the sharp edge off. The chair legs are lightly sanded then teak oil and the bree wax to help seal them.
  10. Lots of heat big bars a press then sod it cut them off and start again but make them a little shorter this time, so far still pointing the right way....
  11. Tree still had a better hold behind the stump than I thought and the spades were not in deep when they just folded under themself
  12. oak for all the table hazel chair frames and oak for the seats
  13. I think it was september just after a storm, all died off very quickly according to the groundsman which is what made me almost sure it was lightning like tony thought.
  14. Still on with what to do with this tree, back and forth between me, school and LPA. just out of interest i wanted to know what some of you lot would do to in... 1) Nowt 2) Remove all dead branches leaving a strange looking tree. 3) remove the whole tree and flog the trunk to a carver.
  15. Now that is just showing off, but i like it!
  16. Bet that full of chip will make them steering nice and light, tidy landy mate.
  17. Simple.... DONT unless you want a whole heap of bother with it in my experience, better to get a standed and convert as less likely to have had a hard life previously and then could have a king cab to stash kit in.
  18. I found it was bad when I used to drive a mog with chipper on as that would swing out and block the lane for a few seconds longer than the outher person thought it would.
  19. Think that was big boss hog on the saw showing the boys he can still cut it.
  20. Still loving mine, had a little just for the hell of it race today _ 12" spruce log - 560xp with 15" bar - 088 with 30" bar both sharp and warmed up 3 2 1 go............ 560xp first through twice! Not as fast at over bar length mind.
  21. Not a lot in it.... How many cuts to a fill on the normal saw against how many cuts on to a charge on the battery
  22. I have had a tw150 and compared to that my new quadqhip is a whole different machine. Spent today siding up a overgrowen thorn hedge for a new footpath and all day was amazed at how well stuff was pulled in without being cut into tiny little bits. When i got it i thought the turntable would be handy but now wounder how we used to cope without. Something no1 has mentioned is ease of maintanance, the greenmech being 1 of the easiest chippers i have had to change blades in, 20 min all done the 2nd time. still never managed to do the tw in under an Hr.
  23. Anouther quick thought check out the hand brake hasn't stuck on as that would generate heat, whine and could heat up and damage the uj at that end of the prop and make the clunk.
  24. Yes why is it so many trees are dropping there leaves at this time of year?
