  1. Sounds fair enough to me.
  2. A sad story. In the USA do they have to be trained in the use of MEWPs as we do here?
  3. I used to climb on screwgates for years without incident. I was reluctant at first to trust 3 ways!!! as I knew that I had fastened up the gate properly because I was the one at risk if i didn't. Wouldn't bother me to start using them again.
  4. You'll be pleased with that. Tidy job John.
  5. I can vouch for Bob's knowledge, experience and skill level.
  6. Is that the Stihl sales hotline Pete?
  7. No reason why not. Needs a 'handle' like a bucket so that it is always level, not matter what the height. Provided it was correctly fabricated, an engineer should have no problem lolering it, either a new build or a modification to an existing basket.
  8. Great job Dave!
  9. Good use of available equipment and a lot better than fannying about up steps or scaffold. Nice work.
  10. The torque from a 200t will spin even a very large heavy crane basket, as theres little friction on the hook.
  11. Most farm telehandlers don't have sufficient reach to be of much use with a basket for arb work. However a large, say 13m, with a good operator is an excellent piece of kit on the right job. I have done plenty of jobs in the past this way to good effect. Whack the tree down in big chunks and then pick it up and shift it with the one machine. One of the larger firms in our area does (or did) a lot of there work this way. I'm not sure of the legalities nowadays regarding separate controls in the basket etc...
  12. Love that Cooks winch!
  13. Good dry logs then. If they were fresh you'd be getting not far off 2 3/4 tonne there.
  14. Hopefully enough to cover the cost of a couple of new springs!
  15. Yours is not a heated handle model.
  16. I've had ally Bashlins for years. Just changed this year to a velcro pad set, and they are very light and comfortable. Not very sharp out of the box though, but nothing that couldn't be solved with 2 minutes and a flat file.
  17. I like the straw tip. I put a different coloured handle on each size file, easy to pull the right one out at a glance.
  18. Its going back up to 17.5% in January.
  19. Nice big chunks. Looked fun.
  20. I will, but not on a public forum mate! I'll have a detour in the morning and see the new sculpture for myself. I'd like to have seen it erected in the driveway of you-know-who near the New Inn. Took me six months to get paid of that cu...stomer.
  21. I only go through the village when the Ministry are on the bypass!
  22. Which village is it Pete?
  23. I got called out on saturday to go driven grouse shooting. Because one of the regulars hadn't liked the look of the adverse weather forecast. Nice start to my season.
