  3. mind you the rugby union side didn't fair too well yesterday against the aussies but at least the rugby league lads beat france quite comprehensively (66-6).
  4. fairly similar to round my way when the leeds festival starts all the roads have been chaos in past years but new routing seems to do the trick. will prob be at leeds for all three days on free ticket as i'm working in the build up.

  9. get in touch with AT's resident inventor Reg Coates and see what advice he can give.
  10. change it for a husky ride on with a front mounted deck as these tilt through 90 degrees to get to the blades for maintenance and cleaning.
  11. the atomic energy constabulary or whatever it calls itself these days are tasked with guarding sellafield and other power stations like it against people like this and can only be called on to assist civilian forces by the chief constable of each force so by the time the request would have filtered down to the blokes at sellafield deryck bird would have probably killed another half dozen people. red tape is to blame imo.
  12. i think he should stick to criticising art and leave tree work well alone.
  13. if i remember rightly the last southerner to come to a northern get together was visciously targeted by a big shot loaded with tea bags.
  14. if you're concerned about your helmet being "illegal", then the only solution really is to go buy yourself a proper climbing helmet and keep your husky balance or stihl peltor helmets for groundwork.
  15. i know the stretch of A1 that this occurred on fairly well as it is about eight miles from me and i travel it nearly every weekend to see the missus and there is a slight incline just after the wetherby junction that all the wagon drivers pile on the beans to get up, there is also a reasonable amount of noise from the road surface at that point as well. Also the slip road that the car pulled out of is quite short so maybe the wagon driver saw her in his kerbside mirror one minute the next she's gone, it is quite possible he assumed the car had braked to pull out behind him. I'm not defending the bloke but it was certainly a case of 50/50 as the wagons are very easy to see from the slip road.
  16. that would be the hydrodynamic retrieval system then, still very much in its early stages:blushing:
  17. if the fire brigade turn up just ask if you can use their hydrodynamic feline retrieval system.

  25. the best thing about the combi is you can split it into two parts (or three if using the extension pole) and stick it in the back of the disco where it's secure rather than sat on the back of a trailer or van where any ne'er-do-well can lift it.
