  2. brooklands was owned by vickers during WWII as thats where barnes wallis had his drawing office when he designed the bouncing bomb so would have been a prime target for the luftwaffe and easy to spot with that massive banked track.

  16. i'm looking into doing a FdSc in arb at askham bryan college which is verified by harper adams college. upon completion of this and dependent on gaining a merit or above i can "top-up" with a course in land management but with an arb slant to it:thumbup1:
  17. i use a burgon and ball pocket sharpening steel which looks a bit like a pen. puts a really good edge on most things with just a few strokes.

  19. if you're looking at a landy, you'll soon start throwing money at it by adding bits and bobs and if it's second hand new parts. speaking as the owner of a thirteenth hand landy:thumbup: (incidentally i'm thinking of selling my landy and upgrading to a double cab hi-cap or worse a double cab transit:001_tongue:)
  20. love the photo of the street tree dave. someone took time and effort with that:thumbup1:
  21. i know thomas was at the Arb fair with it last year as i was looking at it and remember thinking not very practical for british gardens apart from footballers and millionaires gardens of about fifty acres with no greenhouses or windows within twenty feet of the tree.
  22. it sounds like it could be there, not far from skipton to settle really, just a few mins up the A65.
  23. there was a 4x4 sprinter for sale on ebay i think which was an ex-electricity board one with a gas ring and hand wash and extra seating in the back.
  24. saw this at the trade fair last year and thought the same as pete mctree although my thoughts were wouldn't like to be any where near the landing area for that thing although it does apparently come with a protective foam sleeve:001_tongue:
