  1. Yes, I often use them too but in this scenario, my wife is at home with kids so no need. Ty
  2. I have recieved 2 further packages this week from U.K with no issues. However, the UPS guy is not our usual one (he who made the delivery error) The new guy was not at all friendly, I detected 'hostility', now I am worried that our regular guy might have been given the boot and all down to the business partners hostility towards me. Next week I am going to call UPS to find out. Ty
  3. I ordered the stuff a while ago but it's arrival didn't co-incide with my last visit to U.K so it was sent out as a favour to me being a long standing customer. Ty
  4. UPS recovered the parcels this afternoon. I understand it is not uncommon for mail to be misappropraited by neighbours even family and friends. Thankfully when UPS mentioned involving the Gendarmes it obtained a result. Ty
  5. Does a granulomar stop you cycling? If so, it is up to Mrs Lee as she doesn't ride a bike. Ty
  6. Stubster, Would lights alone have sufficed though? Do you feel Hi-Viz might make this reckless Slavic cyclist less of a risk element? Ty
  7. Hello, A heated arguement has ensued on a fellow cyclists FB page concerning the use of Hi-Viz for cyclists and the latest Highway Code stance on it. Highway code suggests cyclists should take responsibility to make sure they are more visible for drivers, putting the onus of their safety onto the cyclist, the more vulnerable party. Studies suggest, there is no evidence that Hi-Viz reduces accidents. What does reduce accidents is better driver awareness. Now I wholey agree with the driver awareness part but still believe that wearing Hi-Viz helps me stand out whilst cycling on the road in conditions of low visibility.. Wearing Hi-Viz at work. Climber doesn't really require it, he is not likely to get hit by a branch or if working roadside by any traffic if he is in the tree. A groundy might not be seen by the climber so easily though through the crown and against the ground. Groundcrews, who habitually wears Hi-Viz? My lot do when working on a busy roadside but our t'shirts are quite visible anyway for general work. Do we wear it because we are conditioned to believe is makes us safer? Or should our way of working be so safe that Hi-Viz is not a requirement? What are the arguement for and against wearing of Hi-Viz on our industry? Ty
  8. Seen this any-one? https://ballyclarelimited.com/waterproof-hi-vis-rail-s27.html Goretex for a very reasonable price. Ty
  9. Saw and blower are the main things. Over a post brexit grands worth. Ty
  10. Update. UPS guy finally contacted Le Git by phone although got nowhere with him this morning. Then he visited Le Git in person at his home this afternoon. Le Git denied knowledge of the packages whereabouts this morning but this afternoon the UPS guy laid it out. Packages to be returned Tuesday 2nd or UPS will 'depose plainte' at the G'darmerie. Suddenly the packages location is known. They are with one of or both of the employees at their home address and they will be returned Tuesday. The UPS depot manager himself will collect them in person and deliver them to my address. I'll let you know if I do get them back and in what state. Ty
  11. So... As I thought, UPS guy thought he was doing me a favour not delivering my packages to the correct address but instead to my 'team' he saw as he passed by the yard. UPS guy has called the number of the business partner, left a message and left a note at his private address. So far no response and I don't expect one either. Business partner will do as he does always and ignore. I'll give the UPS guy until Jan 2nd to obtain my packages. After that I will report them stolen. Ty
  12. Bizzare, I removed that as soon as I posted it. How it has come to be re-quoted is beyond me. Apologies. Ty

  15. Hello, I don't seem to have much luck navigating or deciphering the info on the web. Looking for information on lightweight truck cranes mounted behind cab, weights, prices, specs etc. Regards Ty
  16. Ah... Sadly that too is currently impossible without a legal battle. You see the year I married my non-E.U wife the U.K government changed the rules on visas for spouses. Earnings limits apply. I'd already need a job in the U.K that paid me around 26k before we'd be granted residency as a family unit. My kids and I are U.K passport holders but my wifes country of origin makes immigration difficult. Ty
  17. Annoyingly, under French law I cannot simply dissolve this business partnership because the business is viable, turns a profit and has employees. Le 'Perfidious French Git' won't make me anything near a fair offer for my shares either. Nor can I simply just start another business in the same area whilst I have even a euro invested in the current one. So the route I have chosen is to go into administration by taking Le PFG to the Tribunal de Commerce which I did last June This will be for a period of a year. If no solution is found by June 2018 then the company will be dissolved by the Tribunal de Commerce. Le 'PFG' now has to put up with a business partner (me) who only works a couple of days a week for full pay and benefits unless he comes out with a better offer for my shares. In addition to not offering a fair settlement Le 'PFG' also wants to screw me over with 'Restrictive Covenants' preventing me from working in the trade or running a business within 100km of the current business for 3 years. If I choose to simply walk away and get a job, then it must be in a totally unrelated industry or I potentially face being prosecuted myself for undermining my own business...meh! Vivre La France... Ty
  18. Hmmm... The day before a week long holiday abroad, I waited in for an expected UPS delivery. Bored, I stuck a large note on my front door and nipped to the shops. Upon my return, still nothing, no note either. When I returned from my holiday, still no note or parcel so I call the supplier to ask them to chase it up. Took a few days mind being the season it is. Recieved a call from UPS Friday afternoon. Goods delivered and signed for at my yard by a 'Stephan' Except the address on the packages is quite clearly my home address preceded by the company name and my own name not that of the business premises. More worrying is that I have no employee or associate called Stephan... I have a sample of the signature used. Now, to UPS's credit, I believe the delivery driver may well have thought he was doing me a favour by dropping in at the yard as it was possibly on his route anyway. The goods are to the value of 1200euros. UPS are in complete agreement with me concerning the address issue. That the address should have been respected to the letter. However, I do not want the driver to get into trouble for using his initiative and using his head to ensure delivery. Which brings me back to the mysterious 'Stephan' who signed for the goods at the yard. Prime suspects in my eyes are the rogue business partner and the 2 belligerant employees who have aligned themselves with the Perfidious French Git (PFG) The PFG refuses to communicate with me, either denying emails are recieved or not signing for recorded delivery letters. Only route to communicate with him is via the company administrator but she is closed until Jan 2nd The delivery driver must now be given the chance to recuperate the 2 packages. If this is not successful, I guess I must file a report of theft with the local Gendarmerie. Ty
  19. Is it only drum style chippers which require anvil adjustment after sharpening? I guess moving anvils on regular chippers (if design allows) also governs chip size. Ty
  20. That applies to any chipper surely? I turned our Quadchip anvils at 500hours which improved the chip quality. Ty
  21. I'm also 'considering' moving to a TP175. One thing I have noticed over the years. People rarely have good words to say about trouble free things. The absence of discussion over this chipper leads me to believe that is a rare beast and a bloody marvel of Danish engineering blessed with such remarkable reliability that never a cross word is spoken online about it. Now just try Googling TW150 or Quadchip and you'll fill your boots with both complaints and praise on the same thread. Ty
  22. Living as I do in France, it is common to see yummy mummies on the school run with catwalk figures after having 4 kids but sporting a resting bitch face that chills the soul. Ty
  23. Seriously, I have several second home owners who wants a couple of days between Xmas and New Year. I don't even have time to get to quote before hand I'm that busy. Besides, apart from real emergencies, I can't see any-ones trees taking precidence over time spent with my 2 kids. I'm just not that hungry for work these days... Ty
  24. Hello Coletti, May I press your for your opinion on an alloy floor 'v' steel? Obviously no dropping chogs into it but in weight terms, worth while? Ty
  25. Yes, and tomorrow the new 'climber' (read Diva) must perform the sex act of my choice for welching out on todays climb due to 'not fancying it'... Now he has NO F#####G excuse! Ty
