  1. When we've got them for groundies... Ty
  2. Red here is around 80 cents for the 'superiour' quality. Ty
  3. Well, I looked up the engine used and it's power curve info. It uses .1422 American pounds of fuel per hp hour. That is just over 8 litres per hour. I used an online converter. Given a Honda 23hp uses around 4 maybe it's not so far out...? Mind you, I'm fairly pants at this kind of math... Ty
  4. Here: https://www.timberwolf-uk.com/products/tw-280phb-chipper/ Ty
  5. Any-one seen the new TW range? I'd be curious to know just how much a 57hp petrol engine might consume. Not fixated on figures just curious. Besides, I'm only considering machines with folding chutes at the moment. Ty
  6. I thought that too. French way of thinking, overcomplication... Ty
  7. Anyone seen or use one of these? http://www.rabaud.com/en/products/wood-chipper-shredder/wood-chipper-self-propelled-xylochip-100da.html?filiere=forestiere It self propelled and has large single roller with no stress but I can't see why it should have a gravity feed style chute. 12850euros inc vat Made in France.
  8. You tried the fritters yet? Ty
  9. I just got curious and looked on Wiki. 15000 species of crane flies! Ty
  10. Make good fritters if you catch enough... Ty
  11. There are also 2 sub 750kg machines from TP. A 23hp petrol and a 26hp deezle. Ty
  12. Drive why not? Calais Dover in dead of night for a few beans. Tescos shop on for goodies on way back. OR... is there an Angloinfo site for Eastern France or Switzerland? Ask on there for transporters. Ty
  13. I worked my way through the GM range from CS100 to the Arborist 200. Rented the 150 when demand required an extra machine. The 200 is a very solid machine. Much more robust than the 750kg class. I like the extra safety buttons on the hopper sides and deep hopper. No chance of idiot Frenchmen getting their legs chewed off kicking brash into the rollers. A push paddle is provided for this. We have attached a cidre bottle holder to the hopper and a cone carrying bracket bolted to a wheel arch. There is a plastic curtain in the hopper which is to prevent shrapnel from exploding branches as they get crushed by the rollers. It can eat anything 2 men can drag into it. I used it last week on a site clearance where is was invaluable and next week we have a giant Macrocarpa to shove through it. Loves a good macro does the 200. Chip is fine, blades easy to access and turn and greasing points obvious. Only slightly annoying thing is that the chute doesn't hinge for low roof storage. Ty
  14. I've been using a mates GM130 recently and am very impressed with it. I think it boxes above it's class. Powerfull rollers and picks up quickly. Makes fine chip too. Maintenance is simple, easy to change blades and grease up. I currently run a GM200 and Quadchip so I feel I can make an objective comparison. The new 37hp 150P poses a question mind. It is 38% more powerfull than the GM130 yet only 18% more productive according to the factoids on the web. Ty
  15. Phone charging? Ty
  16. My favourite is one with Edmund Blackadder sitting on the floor tied up back to back with Percy after a drinking session. He is saying: " My head feels like there is a Frenchman living in it" Ty
  17. Dean, what is the price for the 36hp engined version? Ty
  18. Fencing cost and managing animals as an absent landowner. Ty
  19. Herbicides are strictly forbidden in this water catchment area. Client has already been fined for using U.K Roundup marketed as safe around water on the dam itself. Ty
  20. There is a sluice low down in the dam almost at the level of the lake bed. It get's blocked with waterlogged vegetation. Ty
  21. Can't fill it until dam is repaired. It's subject to an 'Arret Prefectorial' Weight limit over dam reduced to 3.5t which the farmers ignore. It's been empty 4 years now. 27 hectares includes the marshland surrounding which is the breeding ground for the fish so I am told. The whole property is worth 500k once the dam is fixed and lake re-stocked. Ty
  22. I've a old and regular client with a 27 hectare lake on the Brittany-Normandy border. It has been drained to prevent the dam collapsing due to a leak. Meanwhile, as the 'County Council' plus 2 local village councils and insurers lawyers wrangle over who pays, the weeds are a growing and nothing grows faster in rich century old lake silt than poplar and goat willow. The lake never seems to dry out fully and is criss crossed by small streams. The crust forms hexagonal plates which move like unstuck tiles. We tried clearing an area with a Grillo 2 wheel tractor and scissor bar mower attachment. Cumbersome and bogs down easily plus gets caught up what it has cut when reversing. Also we cannot cross the streams which also run underground leaving a area of marsh. I am inclined to go at it with a team equiped with clearing saws. Another issue is what to do with the brush once cut? We cannot burn it and it will form mats which will block the sluice once the lake is re-filled which requires a diver to clear. I tried to take a '360' series of images. Any advice welcome. Cheers Ty
  23. Well I took that orange saw back and got it exchanged. This replacement I could barely turn over the engine was so tight and so I never got it started. So a refund it was 'merdre alors'... Ty
  24. I pretty certain that under E.U law you can buy from any country and the supplier cannot refuse on the grounds of having a dealer there. I looked into this when Timberwolf U.K once refused to deal with me direct. I recently looked at a TP 175 chipper. £15k plus vat in U.K against €27k plus vat in France. FSI 20 grinder £4.5k against €7.5 here. Ty
  25. Getting the vat back from goods bought in U.K is a little complicated. We do this from time to time on goods where we are charged vat by suppliers who are not used to exporting. However the exchange rate offered by HMRC is terrible so for minor amounts we don't bother. I can't imagine Dean has any scruples about selling kit to who ever where ever. Ty
