  1. WOW! It does seem a very good deal. http://www.deleks.com/en/wood-chippers/biowoodchippers/317/deleks-dk800-professional-use-wood-chipper-with-15cc-4-stroke-gasoline-engine.html Ty
  2. Ignore Mick, his village is twinned with Monaco... Ty
  3. Cruising the web as you do, I have noticed many of these 15hp bargain chippers are clearly just the same machine re-branded. Ty
  4. Hello Jason,

I need to organise a quadchip flywheel axle replacement.

Are there any exchange units available?

If not, how best to get ours to G.M?

    ALSO...

How much if G.M does the job for me...? (properly with new bearing and like WHATEVER!)

Still not out of the merde but holding my own against the wrath of the perfidious French git.

      Regards

      Stuart

Hi Stu.....I'm on holiday this week but I'm fairly sure a new shaft is in the region of £375 plus fitting which is approx 3 hours labour @£60 per hour..

There probably is a service exchange flywheel assembly ready for despatch but that would be on the understanding that you returned yours, why don't you bring it over yourself and come and have a cuppa..?

Probably best to email 'Heather' in the parts dept for an accurate price, think it's '[email protected]'

Its good to hear that you're doing ok though mate.......!

  6. Yes, it could have a round swiveling top to it as an option plus a tacho which is usefull. Ty
  7. I don't see how that Rock with it's single cylinder engine can beat a CS100 in terms of performance. As for talk of money in the bank, your forgetting the high residual value of a CS100 and excellent back up from G.M. Ty

  9. G.M do 2 petrol road tow models. The 23hp 130 and the 37hp 150P The 130 is listed as being able to process 3ton per hour and 150P 3.5ton per hour. Why is there not alot of difference for an extra 14hp? Curious... Ty
  10. Hello Spud.

First, thank you for all your most usefull contributions to Arbtalk.

Now I have 'supplie devant vous' I wish to ask your advice.

I have a 2009 Stihl pole saw power unit which now only runs on half choke.

What are the possible causes of this?

    Regards

    Stuart Lee

Hi Stuart, if the unit needs half choke then the carb isn't supplying as much fuel as it should. Usual issues would be carb tune, holed or bad fuel line, bad fuel filter or the carb needs a clean and refurbish. Typical carb issues are shyte in the gauze strainer, holed or damaged pump diaphragm or hardened metering diaphragm. Sometimes removing the H&L screws and using carb cleaner down their holes can resolve issues.

That's about it for the first pass.

      Good luck

      Steve

      Many thanks for the tips.

I forgot to mention that it is a four mix engine just in case this changes things.

      Cheers

Worth checking the valve clearances then, this causes many poor running issues on these machines

  12. Our Iveco 7t is only 20cm larger than our 3.5t but carries 3.6t after kit and 3 guys. It's pretty nimble too and with difflock is less of a liability 'hors piste' as they say here. Ty
  13. In fact, this subject is much like questioning and trying to get around the German beer purity laws. Yes, you can make artisanal beer out of weird herbs and cast off socks if needs be but at the end of the day, 500years of tradition has proved hops, water and barley to be the best combination. Ty
  14. I sent your comment to the VIZ comic question and answers page. Here is their reply: "Pay them less dear boy and they will soon tighten their belts, winning you both profit as well as payload" Ty:biggrin:

  16. I use Aspen fuel and veg bar oil whenever possible. Conscious of the very obvious difference in how I feel at the end of the day when I have to used SP98 and mineral oil. The skin on my face too suffers from issues related not only to the sun and plant sap but also to the use of mineral bar oils. Ty
  17. I lost a job because some-one else could do it on the Friday instead of the Monday giving the client time to clear up. Friday passed and Monday came and went with no sign of any tree work as I drove past... Ty

  21. Hello, Unless you can speak French then your out of luck. I can't put it any plainer than that. For those of us who arrived here with a phrase book and a French tart, the nightmare of self employment is the best option. Finding work with other Engerleesh speakers for Engerleesh speakers. A little collaboration... Ty
  22. You might be able to still find properties with land for a few grand but unless you have a decent centre of population nearby, the demographics won't support a decent French client based tree business and Brits are too thin on the ground to make much of a living from them. Especially as out West there are several Brits trading as tree surgeons, nice orange t'shirts, no tickets and snapping up the few Brit clients on prices no true Arb can sustainably match. Ty
  23. Hello, To be a self employed 'tree surgeon' you do not actually require any qualifications nor do insurance companies ask for you to justify your competance. This doesn't mean you don't need tickets to obtain a salaried position mind. NPTC are not recognised officially here, nothing before full diploma level is. However, even French employeurs will be interested in your experience. I got a job here climbing straight after obtaining my climbing tickets. I was terrible but employable due to the lack of climbers in France. Mind you, I was made to perform some shoite tree work which pushed me into working for myself. Ty
  24. Hello Pete, Could you remind me of the cost for colour choice please. Cheers Ty
