  1. Trouble is that here, smallest of business pay a flat rate of 25% of TURNOVER in tax whilst larger ones 50% PLUS personal income tax so almost 62.5% for some. Best to be married with kids, brings it down a bit... Ty

  3. Often, my choice of wardrobe comprises a pair of 300euro boots, 300euro trousers and a personalised t'shirt with a heady sprinkling of 'man glitter' and dose of my favourite perfume called 'Eau de Pluie et Cypress' ... Ty
  4. A business FB costs nothing. A web site is essential. However, I update the FB several times a month with intetesting projects. Then include the FB link in emails. It's a gallery of work. My web master tells me it is an important tool. The firm he works for obtains a great deal of revenue through their FB presence. Ty
  5. Where are we going with all this...? Climbers/Groundies with 'benefits'...? Of course that may already be the case with some of you perverts... Ty
  6. Hello, all good stuff there. Any-one an opinion on the wear of the gearbox and driveshafts on a FWD compared to a RWD? Ty
  7. Question for the honourable members of this parish... What is the highest number of hours you have got out of a set of chipper bearings? On our Quadchip (997hours) we've changed the massive double inboard roller bearing once and it was in perfect nick, could have gone on for another couple of hundred. The outboard one hasbeen a sore trial and has been changed 4 times so 5 bearings including the original. Burst grease pipes have caused 2 failures (greasing when cold or too much pressure) too much grease another reason bearings have failed by popping their seals. Now we must change the flywheel or get it re-conditioned locally as the axle has worn with the constant bearing changes. Ty
  8. You will always have trouble putting a body through a chipper. I find the best way is to cut the body into 6 pieces and feed it to pigs. Sorry, I appear to have lost the thread of the thread here... In the book 7 years in Tibet, there is a chapter where some building work is being done and the Buddist monks are sifting through ALL of the soil looking to save ALL the small creatures living within as they believe in reincarnation and view all life as sacred. Lets not take things to this extreme in our trade... Ty
  9. Thank for the advice, I took a punt and wired the money only to find Bolam had got there first...damn his eyes! Ty:lol:
  10. My Afghan ex-employee recieved this today and asked me if it was genuine or not... On Wed, 18 Jan, 2017 at 11:01, Mr.Philips cookson <[email protected]> wrote: Re: Your immediate response is Need to claim your abandoned shipment Attn; Dear From the Desk of Mr.Philips cookson, a former US Army Contractor presently working as the Assistant Director Inspection Unit of San Francisco International Airport USA./During my recent routine check at the Airport Storage/vault on withheld packages, I discovered an abandoned shipment that belongs to you from a Diplomat from Africa, when scanned it in our airport scanning machine it revealed an undisclosed sum of money in two Metal Trunk Boxes weighing approximately 25kg each and some people are coming after this consignment to clam it in your name as your representatives. The consignment was abandoned because the Contents was not properly declared by the consignee as “MONEY” rather it was declared as personal effect to avoid interrogation and also the inability of the diplomat to pay for the Consignment Irrevocable Airport Release Permit Sum of $75, when we scanned the consignment and discovered large sum of Million of US Dollars we withheld the consignment and requested for Consignment Irrevocable Airport Release Permit from the country of origin BENIN REPUBLIC, the diplomat could not wait and he returned back to where he came from and we refused to return back the consignment where it came from since we have already received it here in USA. On my assumption, each of the boxes will contain more than US$1.5Million to US$1.5 Million each and the consignment is still left in our Storage House here at the Capital Region International Airport California till date. The details of the consignment including your name, your email address and the official document from the United Nations office in Geneva are tagged on the Metal Trunk boxes in your favor. However, to enable me confirm if you are the actual recipient of this consignment, I will advise you to provide your current Phone Number and Full Address, to enable me cross check if it corresponds with the address on the official documents including the Name of the nearest Airport around your city. Please note that this consignment is supposed to have been returned to the United States Treasury Department as unclaimed delivery due to the delays in concluding the clearance processes and the unpaid sum of $75 to the Consignment country of origin BENIN REPUBLIC for there Government income revenue charges which can not be weaved or ignore by US Government hence, you must pay the $75 to BENIN REPUBLIC to enable them grant us Consignment Irrevocable Airport Release Permit to release your abandon consignment and deliver it to you without any further charges. The US Government is expecting you to pay the above charge to this very state as you receive this mail today so that your consignment will not be confiscated and put into US Treasure as an unclaimed consignment. So in order words, I will advise you to send the required details to me for quick processing and response. Once I receive your information including the receipt of the payment Sum of $75 for the Consignment Irrevocable Airport Release Permit Charges, I can get everything concluded within 3-6 hours upon your acceptance and proceed to your address for delivery. 11. Self employed here pay around 50% of profit to the state in social charges which you cannot reduce plus income tax which you can offset against plus a local business tax based on turnover and area. Healthcare is universal but hospitals and doctors often charge more than the state will cover so you need additional private health insurance. I had a dermatologist 100% covered but not the medication. Childbirth covered 100% but the room was 10euros more than the state would fund. Nothing much but an example. Ty

  18. I never got my head around sharpening greenteeth. As they are cone shaped, they surely get smaller in diametre as you sharpen them no...? Therefore once sharpened they increase wear the pockets and wheel...? I recall the ones on the HB20 would often wear past the point an edge could be ground back on. Given the price of the teeth versus the time and toxicity of doing it yourself I always just priced them into my rate. Ty
  19. France. Minimum wage is 9.67 p/h gross Our 2 climbers are salaried and 2 years experience each. They are good but cannot run a job well without a team leader and tend to run over without one losing all sense of time and urgency plus they let the clients lead them by the nose into terrible 'whilst your here' situations. They are currently on 12 p/h gross or 1800-ish per month Company pays almost half that again to the state on top plus payroll charges and accountancy fees. After 5 years experience they could be on 2-2400 gross. Or they could be out on their ear in the next few weeks... Other benefits such as company savings scheme in which their contribution is matched but only pays out after 3-5 years service and free top up health care. Self employed sub contracting. Between 180-240 depending on skill set and productivity with up to 300 if they are vat reg and registered in France. Self employed and working for your own jobs, 300-400euros+ Groundworkers self employed, 120-180 An 70m2 appartment here in West of France is around 300-600euros per month and there is a glut of cheap housing to be had. You may also get a generous housing benefit after 2 years work history. Ty

  22. It is common here for businesses to recieve scam emails from psuedo governmental departments informing of the obligation to pay 300euros for an official register of like businesses or even false invoices for services in the hope that the office gets confused and actually pays. Normally they target newer businesses but I seem to get a never ending stream of calls and emails informing me that if I don't upgrade this that and the other health and safety wall poster or pay this trade tax then I will get fined 3000euros blah blah blah. On a personal note, I fear for my Mother, for if ever my Father was to go first then the elder Mrs Lee would fall without reflection for even the most blatant email scammer. Ty
