  1. I was just thinking the same They can repay £163bn in around 6 years:001_huh:
  2. It's a tv and telephone cable hardly life threatening. Just join them together and don't worry. If it doesn't work your client can call the relevant company up and say there's a fault, they will then come out and replace the cable. I've done it plenty of times with a grinder.
  3. Have you tried it or are you speculating? I have its ace, 50p then bang, im straight through. I wish all these call centres had it, 50p to save you waiting in line, bargain.
  4. They did, didn't they? Didn't they bail the banks out to some extent. Anyway, no one trudges in pig shite fixing the roof when they can be rolling in the hay while the sun is shining. And I dont believe a single person who says they will. If tories are in power then there will be less spending on the nhs, schools and other services I use, thats good enough for me to not vote for them compared to the slight benefit I might get due to running my own business, which does technically make us middle class, wot, wot.
  5. I dont think Labour caused the recession mate. It was sub prime bstards that did it.
  6. It might have been best to include this bit in your previous post. I quote the above because it can be your livelihood so heed but dont take it literally the advice of others. Some will say the boss knows all and will reward good workers while others say the boss is oblivious to whats going on so you must make him aware. There is no right answer on what you should do except that if you are unhappy with your working conditions then its up to you to make a change, that will only happen if you speak to the boss, I guess only you can be the judge on what to say.
  7. Ditto, plus I'm not rich enough to benefit from voting tory. Wasn't it a global economic crisis? Therefore it was the Americans fault. All I can base my vote on is what I think benefits me and my family which also includes the jobs they do. In general Labour benefits us the best.
  8. I'm not saying to just go out and punch someone. Anyway imo congratulating how great his mates are for standing by him is condoning his actions. I'm sure they are all good mates but better ones would have stepped in and stopped it. Unless of course he did deserve a slap. Plus you have 3 or 4 threads running on Clarkson so you must be quite a big fan of his.
  9. Read the thread title and the first post.
  10. You do realise that you are condoning clarksons actions, don't you?
  11. I guess you did a bit more than a punch in the face! I agree through there is no way I would contemplate doing jail time plus there is a good chance I would end up worse off in a fight. Although it doesn't escape the fact that a lot of people do deserve a punch or two and good on those who dish it out. At least there is a slot available on the bbc for another singing, dancing, showing you have no talent reality tv show:thumbup1: because if there is one thing we need on tv it's more of the above.
  12. I would say it does. If someone takes the piss out of you then I see no reason why they should get away with it. Although not a fan of the Jeremy Clarkson show I have read some of his books, which I liked. Lots of people deserve a punch to the face but never get it, no doubt it will be the ruin of society.
  13. Not really a song but something I just remebered [ame] [/ame] song wise [ame] [/ame] [ame] [/ame]
  14. I would go back to 22nd nov 1963 then stand on the grassy knoll and shout "Duck" Just for a laugh like.. I would probably give tree work a miss as its a lot of hard work for not enough money imo, plus its not like I love climbing trees so I wouldnt miss out on much! I reckon if I put as much effort into another line of business that I have into this one for the last 20 years i would be far better off.
  15. Keep strong and all the best for a speedy recovery.
  16. We didnt, we all died back in 1982 when someone ignored a "Hot Water, caution this water is hot" sign and this is just one of a infinite number of computer programs trying to figure out what size font should have been used.
  17. Well said. These are the customers you want.
  18. Could just be crossed wires. I would tell them it's going to cost x amount to carry out the remaining tree work(presuming you can't go back to the original deal) or walk away and put it down to experience. I've turned up at jobs before now where they have already had 100% of the work done by someone else but forgot to tell me. And that's after they have agreed for me to carry the work out , arranged a date and I turn up with a van and chipper to cut some trees down.
  19. There are cowboys in every profession. I bet you would get upset if you went to b&q and they wouldn't sell you a drill, circular saw, lawnmower, socket set, screw driver set etc.
  20. That goes without saying. Although I have climbed over 7 trees in my career so I do know what I'm talking about.
  21. Your wrong for two very good reasons 1. You havent seen every tree. 2 Ive been to a tree job were the tree has fell to pieces as ive climbed into it. Before you say it no im not a big fatty:001_tongue: In regards to 2, it was a seriously well rotted pop that stood there but for the grace of God. The top was pole sawed from a step ladder then it was pushed over, no damage to the conservatory or house and no accidents.
  22. "No job is too big, no fee is too big"
  23. I have seen a lot of very good climbers that arent and dont aspire to be super heros. There are trees that are unclimbable, you just havent seen every tree in every situation. More common are trees that are climbable but the job spec makes the work unachievable through climbing. Im not the worlds best climber but I havent came across many of the above. I have heard lads say they will pull the HSE card if they cba doing the job and I have seen people try and force someone to do something that they themselves could not do in a million years. Both idiots on the opposite side of the fence. I wouldnt blame anyone (who generally is good at their job) thinking in a certain situation that they werent happy and would rather give it a miss or do it differently.
  24. Yes completely the wrong way around. Its good to get advice from the internet.
  25. I know weird isn't it! They also don't like being poked with a stick, I mean what's all that about!!?
