1. Sure thats not a bit of a piss take though have heard the Winnebago one in loads of different versions years ago I doubt it could still go on if it ever did. Class though
2. You should also require a license to have kids. This would involve a true 'common sense' questionnaire, if you dont pass then your deemed to stupid to contribute to the human race therefore sterilized on site:thumbup1:
3. Ahh right. Thanks for clearing that up Is a 5 star dealer then someone who shifts alot of gear?
4. The solicitors definitely fuel this claim culture problem. People are made to feel an idiot if they can claim but decide not to. Weve all seen the ad "I tripped on a piece of wood that shouldnt have been there so I claimed" How about the company should sue that person for walking around with there eyes closed, injuring themselves and therefore hitting the company in the pocket because they cant do there job for 6 weeks HSE doesnt help by wanting everyone to be able to walk around with there hands in there pockets and taking no responsibility for there actions unless they have been told and or trained in what to do for every situation possible. Ahh well keeps us all on our toes:001_smile:
5. Mine were worn down to stubs, didnt realise. Attacked them with a mig welder and there nice and pointy now:thumbup:
6. Yes you should imo. Its the same as a customer saying can you also trim this, fell that while your here etc. If you dont tell them it will be xxx amount more then you cant get annoyed with them when you add it on at the end and they dont want to pay. If they know the price before they might decide to not get the extra work done, they might not be able to afford it. In a restaurant you have seen the menu and know exactly how much any extras will cost, so tbh it aint the same. You could have taken another 25 weeks to fell it rather than prune, how much extra would you have chraged then.
7. When they asked you to fell it didnt you tell them how much extra it would cost?
8. So a lot of Stihl dealers dont buy direct from Stihl but from 5 star dealers? Great if your a 5 star dealer but not so otherwise, maybe Stihl should change that policy if they want better deals for there dealers.
9. I agree, but going back to the OP its very difficult to get a profit margin when you are pricing against others who through how they work have very little overheads and basically work for wages. I assume its not the same across the country but there are plenty who only work for a wage and arent interested in running it like a business, I know I have spoke to enough of them on the subject! (btw I'm talking about local lads not travellers here so no one can take offense:001_smile:) If I had plenty of work and didnt care about people being fleeced then I too would not care a jot what others do and do my own thing. But life aint like that and I'm not like that. I dont loose sleep over it dont let it run my life or affect my health but I see no wrong in not being happy on how others do what they do. No doubt life would be easier if we all just looked after ourselves and didnt car what others did or got up to. Although say that to the older generation and they wont be too happy.
10. There are plenty of lazy gits but well until they cant survive on benefits there always will be. Some of you musta have had a bit of bad luck with employees since tbh I reckon that at the very least 50% of the people I have worked with/for have been very hard workers 40% good workers and the other 10% who you wouldnt bother with. Then again I'm prob one of the 10% so every one looks good to me:thumbup: I think they should bring back national service and as someone else said above no one should not be working they should at least be doing community service to pay for there dole money. I have been unemployed after leaving school and it is very easy(well was to me ) to get lazy and not want to work. If it gets a grip of you it can be tough to get back into it so community service would get people out there and of there arse's, once they see it isnt as bad as they think I'm sure many would look for permanent work.
11. Also intimidation works well unfortunately. Had many an old customer well and truly robbed from door knockers.

ARB Lunch

Just the usual junk out of a garage, butties, crisps, mars bar etc. Rupe's homemade humus sounds nice though:thumbup1: Cant await until SWB post's his daily requirement. Bacon, sausage, egg, mushrooms, tomatoes, black pudding,,,twice!! Washed down with a load of posh coffee
13. Ouch!!! Hope it heals quick mate. Silky's are lethal!!! You end up putting your hands way to close, well compared to a saw anyway.
14. I'd do something different, not sure what tbh. I only work to live and would prefer to do a job I liked at least more than 50% of the time.
15. I'm sure it can be done if needed. I've chogged down a few horrible stems in the past where some scaff would surely have made my life easier!
16. Excellent stuff cheers:thumbup1:
17. Something from Brazil for ya. Aint a clue what it is though:confused1:
18. Saw a vid about the google nexus one phone. They were testing it for robustness (couldnt think of another word!) and it looker very tough imo. Theres a few nice phones coming out soon ,sony ericsson x10 and HTC Bravo they should be rivalling iphone for tech plus they will have way better cameras.
19. So what country is it you have emigrated to then? I would say for those good 3 or 4 days a year, when the weather is just right, it is great working outside:thumbup1: Seriously though, listen to Dean
20. LOL last time I bought from the pump was 86p (about 3 months ago) I must be from the future!!
21. Liking the last pic with the bench:thumbup1: All class though:thumbup1:
22. Thats been done but no pics sry.
23. Yeah reckons, there stress level probably drops which makes it all seem better:001_tongue: I am sure its the same stuff just may not have the extra bits esso/shell etc put in but 15% is a fair whack of an increase in anyones books.
24. 99% chance its the clutch springs. Other than that check the HSE safety sticker:thumbup1:
25. Doesnt this move into EA territory ie they state virgin timber is not waste, therefore you may not be moving waste depending on what the virgin timber is being used for. Dunno if this will make any difference or not but I assume the EA are the governing body on what is and what isnt waste. BTW someone mentioned red diesel is a dirty fuel and worse for your health than white is this true? I thought they were both the same.
