  1. Is it like one of those little davids? If so thank God the HSE dont like them:001_smile:
  2. I've got one in pdf but its 18Mb so you will either have to PM me your email address or I might be able to chop it up if there is just one section your after. Otherwise look on ebay they have stihl workshop manuals on dvd.
  3. Cant help sry but at that price you shouldnt of lost their number:scared1:
  4. 17% thats fairly low that:thumbup1: Although I reckon you need to push those pins in a bit:sneaky2: Obviously depends on accuracy of tester but one I have measures about 17% on bone dry pine(the leg from a table inside the yard bought from B&Q)
  5. Did they? I dont see any photo of it on the deck:sneaky2: Only joking looks like a nice day for it I bet all the boaters where after the firewood:001_smile:
  6. Definitely:thumbup1: I'm not that good when it comes to straight felling big stuff, which I guess(or hope:blushing:) is because we hardly get a chance since so much of our work is domestic and there aint usually the room. If it looks like a possible fell but its tight then I would usually bottle it and prefer to section it down a bit due to not having the judgement and/or skill.
  7. Enjoyed all the vids and good to see a little trick that worked well:thumbup1: Where you just sort of lowering the bottom cut of the gob then?
  8. Excellent pics!:thumbup1:
  9. How much is the MEWP costing compared to some boards(suggested by Andy) and or the odd piece of asbestos sheeting (bearing in mind the removal of the old stuff)? I take Rupe's point on it though. I would say you are VERY lucky that the client will pay the extra cost TBH. Fair play to you though fof asking/talking to them about it but for Gods sake put some boards on the roof even if you are going to use the MEWP. Wouldnt look too good if a stog went westward and punched a hole though it.
  10. Its all a bit silly though. No TO is going to want to save those trees so why not just tell you to get em down. 1 photo should be more than enough evidence IMO.(I know it wont though) Plus why should you have to submit a report at extra cost to the client never mind having to wait another 6 or so weeks.
  11. Dunno if this is the right thread to post on but any ideas on what the average cost is to become an AAAC? Thought it relevant since that seems to be the biggest factor in not getting AAAC (it is mine too)
  12. First time ive seen that done!
  13. I was wondering about that the strwech airs look heavy (I havent tried them though) Got sip ultra fit atm:thumbdown: and some hi-flex that have fell to bits looking for some A's for the summer though so might look at the stretch airs if there not to hot in.
  14. I'll second that:thumbup1: IIRC() there is a big difference between how big companies(over 5 employees) have to operate by law compared to small 2-3 man bands(I guess the majority of us on here) I would therefore expect the AA to differentiate between the small and large in there pricing, assessment and reassessment strategies or something more appropriate in what you do ie strategies is probably the completely wrong word but hopefully you understand what I mean:confused1: This I think would help the smaller companies get AAAC approval and keep a bit of a tighter check on the larger companies, improving the industry for all camps.
  15. You need to find out if its electrical or mechanical. If it has electrics try disconnecting the dump solenoid. This is what the anti stress or safety bar kicks in if it has any.
  16. Thats all he would have to change if it siezed. I'd just use it tbh and if it does sieze/pick up you know why.
  17. Is it a turbo?
  18. Can you turn the engine over easily by hand? ie is there any compression in it.
  19. Ohh very lucky!! Did they have a pulling rope on it or did it have a very lob sided crown? Fixed it for you.
  20. Tbh I dont think I have ever seen a syc killed off from pollarding! Although yours could be the first:001_tongue: I'd do it:thumbup1:

  22. Oh yeah I remember too:laugh1:
  23. Hopefully someone will come up with a more accurate answer than mine but iirc from an old thread around the 300-350kg per cubic metre sounds about right.
  24. Hopefully none of us will ever find out! I did start a thread yonks ago hoping some insures would give us a definitive answer on if they would pay out if we didnt have this ticket or that ticket etc.. Surprisingly not one decided to help out, wonder why:sneaky2:
