1. I'm surprised the four of you can stand living in such a poky little place!!!
2. I'd move a couple of dog eggs with the shovel but long grass and lots of bangers is a job for someone else. Unless I've got silly money on the job.
3. Looks like there is hardly anyone using them, which can't be a good thing! Would also be interested in any info as I have also ben thinking for years about changing the setup on my 252, I always just end up buying more pro teeth though.
4. Looks really good that. I can feel my shoulders aching and muscles twitching just looking at that.
5. Cheers for the help and info. I have no artistic skill so I will just have to resort to nicking others ideas.
6. Yes..
7. Thieving rats!!!
8. The saws just get a right good hammering, as they should they are supposed to be pro gear. The prob I have is that they used to be fine but they changed it for the worst. The ms220T is still a great saw and atm I wouldnt swap it for anything else.
9. That's just a get out clause since it didn't happen with the old style handle Surely you could get some duct tape on there ti do a good bodge job.
10. I know what you mean mate but I don't do that very often. Its to do with the poor construction I think.
11. Didnt know that! Good bit of info cheers.
12. Thats the one well in.
13. Just a thought from another thread. Although I think H&S may slowly be killing our's and other industries as in it is and will get harder to actually do any work due to the amount of checks, paper work and rules and regs to stick to. Now, since H&S has increased the amount of work due to everyone(ok not everyone but more than there used to be) being scared about something happening and being sued because someone tripped of a twig 'that shouldnt have been there' ... Ha, just realised I have no point in this thread or real argument about anything suppose I should delete it but since I've made this much effort I think I'll just post it anyway.
14. Cheers for the reply and info. Good old H&S, keeps us in a bit of work though. Hmmm actually that gives me an idea for a thread.
15. Yup, straight swap iirc. I dont think you have to change any of the internal bits.
16. Just wondering why they wanted them lower than previous pollards since those trees looked quite good. As others have said nice bit of kit.
17. Well following on from my other thread which I'm hoping someone will comment on in regards to the fit for use H&S issue(no offence to all other posters much appreciated, well to most anyway:sneaky2:)anyway..... Stihl obviously fiddled about with the chain brake for some reason, not that I think its because they want more sales of parts or anything:sneaky2: It obviously needed to be made a bit lighter or something! So the first pic is from a MS200T and the second pic from an 020T which is God knows how old and has seen a fair bit of battle damage. As you can see the plastic is a lot thicker on the 020T handle, therefore it doesnt break. The 200T handle was a replacement about 18 months ago but it broke within a week! So its staying like that. The 020T handle has been around for yonks and just gets swapped over when I buy a new saw and the original one breaks. Anyone hopefully at least one person out there has found this interesting, and for the rest of you I'll start a something V something thread to keep you entertained. Hmmm actually I think I'll start a poll.
18. Will be interested to find out what the first one definitely is. Has anyone got a link to one of those mushroom key type ident list, ie you put in what type of gills, colour, cap shape etc. Not distracting from the AT directory just need some help in indenting stuff.
19. Its been like that for yonks, so have all my older ms200T's, they break I buy a new one because the saw is new, then they break again so I dont bother. Although there is a reason why I say ms200T and not 020 but thats for another thread. Coulda just been unlucky with the brake band since I hardly ever have to replace mine for some reason:sneaky2: In fact I have 2 new ones sitting around somewhere.
20. As the chain brake handle is made of plasticine and lasts all of 30 seconds before snapping on the left hand side where it locates into the crankcase, does this make the saw unusable from a H&S point of view? The chain brake still works fine.
21. Sounds like a well informed bloke:thumbup1: Second does indeed look like Inonotus hispidus which is bad news for the ash. Dunno what the first one is.
22. I was looking at getting a stein helmet the other year, glad I stuck to the good old husky 'arborist' helmet:thumbup1: I'll just make sure I don't whack the side of my head with a branch like we did in the good old days before H&S
23. There was a big in depth thread using this type of technique on here a while ago. I'm sure it was that Graham american guy.
24. Although there are some great pieces of furniture/art made by you good fellows and felloweses are there any web sites knocking about that show how to make a few rustic bits and bobs?
25. I know it happens a lot in other industries so I expect the same here. Make a loss on the day to day tree contact but make up for it on the extras, the grass cutting, the litter picking the footpath reinstating etc etc. Or just get some subbies in and do some bashing is the favorite way. I know that one from experience unfortunately!
