1. It is all about the cost from the beginning imo. They have to be cheaper than Stihl or why on earth would you buy one? Forget the fact that they could be £1 more expensive, the 020 is a known quantity, the people who buy it know what they are are buying and know why they want it. If you spend £450 on a saw and arent happy its not a good deal but if you spend £450 on a saw that you dont like when you knew you could buy a known good saw would really piss you off. If they come in at £399 and its a corker they will sell thousands.
2. Always good to know another cultivar. If that s the right describtion:laugh1: Out of interest why do you prefer it?
3. You are all bonkers, if my mum cost that much to travel she wouldnt. What type of dog is it?
4. Well since we always have which saw thread I thought I would ask which chain do you prefer on your pro saw? I usually go for the oregon super 70 but would like to hear of any better alternatives.
5. Excellent:thumbup1: Another good reason to recommend a Betula 'Jacquemontii' as a replacement TPO tree.
6. I asked at the Apf and they were a bit cagey. I said that if they were more costly than the 020 then they would be fighting a losing battle from the start and they seemed to agree. They know what they are up against and tbh it has to be less to get some interest. If it costs more than £1 more than an 020 I wont be buying one on principle.
7. Thats the best bit. Fat people are killing this country, but thats another thread.....(Ive lost 8 lbs recurrently so i'm not a fatty anymore:thumbup:)
8. I'm due a new top handle and think I might hold out for it. Hated all the previous Husky top handles but have a feeling on this one.

Pollarding?

All comments are fair unless you are personally attacking someone so dont worry about that. Hmm not sure about the tree canopy protecting us from the sun unless there is a massive amount for planting. I dunno what the big deal is with anti pollarding. Yes its great if a reduction is carried out in the earlyish stages of a trees development then maintained, but it doesnt happen. I think sometimes people forget that others put a lot of money into there property and would like to enjoy it and their little bit of private space. When a tree unowned by them, and more often under the care of the LA is allowed to grow unmaintained and unchecked then surely they have a right to get something done and a 2 meter reduction usually doesnt fit the bill. Pollard them but on a regular basis and all is happy.
11. Interesting stuff nice1. Is it only the downy birch? If so pity that, always fancied some birch wine.
12. More often than not you can find bits of the nail stuck in the cutter, remove it and its fineish:thumbup1: Sandstone can destroy a chain before you know whats happened! I imagine it must get costly with bandsaw type blades though:scared1:
13. OI weve had one for 10 years or something and it still works. Apparently they are designed to pick up dirt of the floor and it does exactly that. WTFinell else is it supposed to do! Your only jealous because Mr Dyson is a billionaire, besides his hand drier blade things are boss.
14. Best one yet.
15. I reckon this one will be a winner. Only checked it out at the APF though.
16. I voted for Dyson because... 1 We have one and every bloke has the excuse that they have seen them on the TV therefore know what they are. 2 What is a Miele? 3 Your arguing about a hoover, the least manly of all things, well maybe rubbing shoulders with the iron, so for that reason your wife should win.
17. Jessh! You wouldnt think he was only 42 when you look at his pic!! Have a drunken one.
18. Send it back as it looks like its were they have joined it. On the brightside, good to see you spotted it before it flew of in use.
19. My advice would be buy a single sided version, and don't buy the latest stihl hs 86 r or t I think it is. Sorry about not going into detail but there will probably be loads of differing opinions anyway mate.
20. I always go commando in bed. Plus I sleep in the nude.
21. Sounds like you could be making a rod for your own back tbh. The only way I could see anything being accurate is to sell by weight rather than volume. Which we know is useless but a 1000kg of logs is 1000kg of logs, air spaces, quality of stacking and also uniform sizes of logs (to help with the stacking) moisture content which would require some calibrated testers I pressume can be forgotten about. The best way is to sell in bags that are Xcm byXcm and loose loads that are approx X cube which is approx X amount of bags Xcm by Xcm. Well so I reckon anyway.
22. Nope!! We have this new fandangled gadget, its called central heating, it has a timer and everything!!
23. Its probably the reason why there aren't really many big tree firms, loads of small 2 man bands and why everyone seems to get fed up being an employee and go it alone unfortunately.
24. I would have thought there might be legal issue's with employees rights etc. Suppose it depends whats in your employment contract.
