  1. I,ve got some beech cooking at the side of the stove over night Jon, gets the moisture right out of it like kiln drying, it's nice and toasty then. Last year a customer told me they didn't want any conifer in their bag of logs, they only wanted hardwood. So I told them they can't have any anyway because I keep all the conifer for myself. They asked me why I would do such a thing and after telling them it's top stuff if you have a really good efficient stove they ordered a bag of conifer logs. Then another, then another, now they love it.
  2. Every public job is open to abuse and one of the most abused is the NHS I do think that there,s a lot of generalisation here guys which is very unfair, mthere are some real grafters in the public sector and they should not be tarred with the same brush as the non grafters. If a customer said they had been ripped off by a Tree Surgeon, it would be unfair for that customer to then go round saying all Tree Surgeons are rip off merchants, would it not ?
  3. I don't understand why you are going to the trouble of doing destructive tests I was under the impression the the rope wrench's function was to take some of the strain or load of the friction hitch for the climber ? In this case, unless you are a frikkin elephant, the maximum loading on the hitch should be no more than the weight of the climber
  4. No tax On home brew Jon, get growing some apple trees, put some leylandii round the orchard to protect from wind then harvest leylandii so your toasty warm when you drink your cider infront of the stove
  5. they have to sell at RRP so they dont undercut their outlets i think
  6. Leylandii is the future Mick... You just need an efficient stove, you know...like a "Yorkshire" stove from Dunsley in Holmfirth dunsleyheat website - Multifuel stoves We Yorkshire folk know how to make em. Just like Jon knows how to make good Cider
  7. Depends on the council I suppose, I work with our council boys quite a lot and they work damned hard for their money.
  8. Been burning some Beech I have been seasoning under cover for two years. Burned it for the last two month, not too bad but can only get the heat out of it if it's cut into small bits, good for over night burns. So today I went down to the yard and got myself some nice leylandii Yehaaaa, stoves glowing like a good un and only opened the vent halfway, kettles steaming away on top in minutes and I,ve had to move the settee away a little more. Just need to keep an eye on the flu temp so it doesn't,t melt my chimney stack Why people disrespect softwood is beyond me. Softwood....it,s the future...you can stick hardwood from now on
  9. IMO its the attorneys that are abusing the system. There,s examples of payouts where the "victim" gets £1400 and the attorney gets £25,000. The cap needs putting on the legal fees
  10. I would wait for neighbours to kick it then cut some nice juicy steaks off them, I reckon thigh muscles would be good meat
  11. You,ve just upset my spaniels Rupe
  12. To be fair, you can't always tell wether they are male or female either. (-:
  13. Go down the right route and get regular inspections instead of trying to find a loophole, you have a duty of care to other road users for one, and you will only put off maintainance if it's needed, I see plenty of clapped out horsebox lorrys that shouldn't be on the road, driven by dumb blondes that shouldn't be on the road either
  14. Exactly what I do with speeders, wave them past and let them get on with it, they have more chance of being caught if you don't hold them up
  15. Slow squats and hold then till your thighs are on fire, then slow back up again and when you do the squats make sure you keep your weight as far back over your heels as you can
  16. Sounds like it needs the filter in the carb cleaning, there,s a video somewhere that shows you how to do it Put in "ms200t carb removal tutorial " into youtube
  17. He,d have been on the phone within 15 seconds
  18. If you drive through a flood, always stay in the middle
  19. Bout time too, it been goosed for a long time Was the neighbour watching?
  20. Just asking because a friend made some plates that go over the door openings and air vents, didn't,t cost him a lot he made them himself, they work a treat
  21. A walk behind flail mower to mulch it all
