  4. I think it depends out how much you need a day to stay afloat. I am happy making 200 a day. for a big tree / job 400 a day is what i am after. My expensies are low so i can get away with making 100 a day though. Some company's who have full tim e staff / larger machinery / more out going's need to make more. Sometimes 700 maybe 800 a day. So my answer is it all depends on your out going's. [for me 600 for that job would be a rip off...but for other company's it would be a fair price.
  5. Done stump..no pics though as were working so hard! It had about 60k of concrete attached to it at the bottom / red bricks / and metal poles through it. No access for crane / fire would have been just stuuupid! thanks to guy working for me ( sharpened chainsaws about 10 times today ) we managed to cut enough of to roll it over..then about 2 hrs of smashing it with sledge hammer. Mark Bolams idea of power washer worked best. managed to clean dirt off enough to make some good cuts. Took about 5 hrs to do..felt bad charging costumer 250 for it...but had to replace chains.
  6. skinny little fecker! Man that really annoyed me..looks like watchdog got him good though!
  7. Great job. I noticed you use 2 pulleys while blocking down. is that to spread the load of force between them?

  13. you can only get the 150hp in this country. was at dealers looking into getting one a few months back. at least thats what he told me
  14. good wages! as long as your workers make you money...pay peanuts you get monkeys! pay well you get good tree surgeons. If you are paying weel and they are losing you money..then there are plenty other tree surgeons desperate for work out there.
  15. i think think problem is that people think its cool job..so they go to college or do short course and think they can earn big bucks. prob is you need to learn the trade first. nothing more annoying than a tree surgeon with all the tickets and gear..who has no idea how to do basic removal. If you can't do almost every tree you quote..you need to learn more before going into business
  16. will give you a call today for multicut chain. Cheers. Martyn
