  6. As far as I can work out it's the HSE that recommend that you should have refresher training every 5 years.

    tree officers

I spent 16 years as a Tree Surgeon before I became a Tree Officer, and in my time on the tools I worked under many Tree Officers. I can honestly say that I could tell the one’s straight out of college within the first 5 minutes of meeting them. It then depended on whether or not they had someone to guide them or whether they were left to there own devices as to how they turned out. I can only speak from my own experience and not wishing to blow my own trumpet when I say I’ve had a number of tree surgeons who contract for me say, that its nice to have someone who knows what there on about and understand the job.
  18. You did a bloody good job Khris and I can vouch for that, the other bloke with you wasn't up to much.
  19. For two men and a tracked chipper I would be expecting to pay between £400 and £500 per day.
  20. I've ordered stuff from Sherrill many times over the years and normally they are spot on with postage charges. I'd drop them an email to find out whats going on, as at the moment they are doing free surface shipping in the USA. see if you can get them to mark the package as a GIFT then you might avoid paying import tax. Double check you have the best shipping option, makes a big differance. Hope this helps Ficus.
  21. How much longer have we got to hold on?
  22. Good morning Mr Jones,

I work for Northampton Borough Council, and have just been asked obtain a quote for eight sets of PPE for staff going on a training for NPTC CS 30/31 (helmets, gloves, trousers and boots).

I saw a while ago that you had some Stihl XXXL Type C Kneeflex trousers; do you still have them in stock? (I only need 1 pair).

Next question is if I can place an order with you in the early part of next week how soon could you deliver?

    Kind regards

    Ben Lloyd

    Tree and Woodlands Officer.

    Pine - speedline

Top one Reg, Zip lines can be great when you understand how they work and what you can do with them.
  24. Do you have any pictures of hedges you have layed, as I might be intrested in having some layed, and want to check out how good you are.
  25. Pollarding street trees would only stop the residents moaning for about 12 months then it would be back to square one. but I do agree that some trees pollarded 20 - 40 years ago need bringing back into a regular pollarding system.
