  1. It is Hi Vis. I use it for tree work. I live and work in Norway. It can rain pretty hard here, hence the choice. I fancied being visible and dry whilst at work.
  2. I don't really lift or use the gym. However, I do try and train 3-5 times a week when family and work life permits. I have joined a new gym here in Oslo. Membership covers all classes. It is a Martial Arts training facility. There is also a weights room, crossfit studio and plenty of other stuff. Ideally I do an advanced Muay Thai class on Mondays and Wednesdays with sparring on Fridays. Classes are 1 and a half hours long. I make the effort to take my 10 years old to the MuayThai classes for juniors on Tuesday and Thursdays and after that is finished there is a Brazilian Jui Jitsu class on for an hour and a half. I started the BJJ in October/November last year and have to say I am loving it. I am hungry for it, in the way I was when I started training MT many years ago. The combination of the above feels right for me. Along with tree work, I believe the cardio of the MT and BJJ, with a bit of flexibility thrown in is one of the best combinations for me. I may hit the weights but i need to be stimulated mentally and they unfortunately don't do it for me in that way. I think the training for me is a mental thing. I definitely get grouchy when I haven't been. As for the eating, I probably eat too little but what I do eat is usually, protein based and greens. Salad everyday for lunch unless it is proper cold and sometimes I make a batch of broth or similar. The salad with some form of meat or fish and an evening meal when I get in. I don't eat that many carbs these days but try not to have too much bread or spuds. I have very little dairy.
  3. ^^^ This. I saw a video from an Aussie guy demonstrating what you say a couple of years ago. When it happens it clearly puts all the weight on the weakest looking part of the zz. It isn't good for a hitch when that happens so I doubt it is doing muchgood to the zz.
  4. Took me a while... LOL
  5. I have it the new Hilux Pete. Not sure of the cost as it was in the deal for the vehicle from the dealer. As for durability, I will have to answer that in a while. Only got the truck 2 days ago. Not much help really was I? Edit: It looks nice though.
  6. Not sure why Big J but a lot of the photo bucket pictures say you need to upgrade your subscription... ?
  7. I still don't understand what this V cut is? the Instagram video was just a balanced lateral. isnt called a V cut as the slings are in a V shape, albeit and upside down V.? edit: cancel that last post. I get it now. what I don't get is the gratuitous gum chewing with the mouth open? What is all that about???
  8. If they have a crane use it. if the work is there you will soon rattle through it.
  9. Have you sent an email?
  10. Sometimes, the leg of you trousers might hinder the line of the rope into the ascender. A bit of weight usually does the job. I some times tie a closed bag on the end or clip my chainsaw to the line off the floor of course and when you get a bit higher just pull it up.
  11. Fair enough, humans have quite a lot to answer for I agree. Just 'cos I have long hair, doesn't mean I am a hippy, I am a realist. I eat meat because I like it. Animals are bred for slaughter. That might be wrong some people's eyes but I am a realist and it is the way of the majority of the world. Birds in a battery farm scenario are poor creatures and don't deserve those conditions. What about the rescued hens that are then ripped to shreds when a homeowners coup is ravaged by a fox? I have shot foxes as pest control for farmers up North. I also shoot for the pot and later be to eat edible which I have killed. Not foxes might I add. Most country side folk I know and have encountered are not really that fond of foxes and I have to admit I agree with them. (They also have a liking for Nissan Navara ABS sensors, 3 times the little buggers chewed through mine. Costing a fair penny from Nissan to get repaired)
  12. I honestly don't understand all this love for foxes. They are a wild animal and will revert to their wild ways. We used to have loads of city or 'crack' foxes in London. They were bold as brass and would stand in the middle of the road as you were driving towards them. I once watched a cub being fed a barbequed sausage by hand in our garden. At first it looked like a nice scene then I reverted back to reality and in my mind remembered the devastation a fox will leave if they get in a chicken coup. flea ridden, mangey, bloody animals.
  13. I saw on the book of faces, that Paul had successfully completed his last years resolution of whole year without alcohol, eating right and going to the gym.
  14. Nice Rupe. How are you getting on in general with the SRT positioning? I found at first, i was just using it for access and doing the odd bit on the way up. Once up top a quick changeover to what I was going see to and crack on. One day About 3 years ago I ordered a BDB and decided (even though it can be used doubled rope style) that I was just gonna ditch the hitch and climb single line. It took a while and was frustrating at first but the more you climb the more it became second nature. Now when I get up a big tree and it is a DDRt climb I am as lost as I was when I started SRT. Apart from small fruit trees, 95% of climbs are SRT these days. I wouldn't say it is quicker, apart from the ascent of course. I will say though that I have more energy left at the end of the day.
  15. Don't use a zig zag. i use mechanical SRT devices. Or a hitch with RW. I have always steered clear of the zig zag.
  16. Rupe, are you dead set on using the ZigZag? You could just use a hitch and HC setup. Connect the tether to the bona and when not needed take the tether off and clip into the middle hole on the HC as per usual.
  17. Cheers Rob. It has arrived. I have about 1700 Ripple and they seem to be going up steadily. Luckily I bought them pretty low, not as low as a friend who advised to buy these weeks ago. He is now a millionaire.
  18. Here you go Rob.
  19. Hey Rob. a Dog e coin is for life not just for Christmas, you know?
  20. Usually get up. Knock up a three egg omletter with chilli sauce to kick start the day with a coffee. usually leave about 6 -630.
  21. I used to have the mud and snow symbols on my BFG AT's on my Hilux in the UK. I have another Hilux here in Norway and enquired at the tyre shop about a price fin r the BFG AT's. He said they are considered useless over here compared with standard winter tyres for a 4x4. Pretty similar to what Josh stated. The grip that winters provide with or without studs is brilliant compared to summer tyres. Literally, night and day.
  22. You could probably get away with it if You had to. Personally I would rather be hit about the face with the fish you mentioned rather than use that. Gravity fed does work but becomes particularly tedious. 6 inch minimum tow behind or tracked. That said though, you would have to re assess your vehicle situation. Good luck.
  23. I used to charge 20 extra for rigging kit but often it turned out to be more if it was a pretty technical dismantle... ie a bonus from the company. crane jobs usually more if it was particulrly difficult or tricky. 30 quid on top of all that for the 660 and 30 inch bar.
  24. Haha... I wondered why you and Stevo always wanted to k ow where my truck keys were;) i might add that on occasion, if a branch or two needed to be rigged down then It was just done. However, if I was I knocking gurt big lumps off, negative rigging, then they provided the kit or I charged them for the use of mine.
  25. In answer to the second part of your OP. Riggin kit is essential for a rigging job. It isnt the kit you should be charging for but the the skills you have a trained over the years in order to do the job correctly, safely and efficiently. Charge accordingly for your skills. Just my opInion.
