  1. @benedmonds Trust were the ones who sold me my policy as a freelancer (when I explained the nature of the work I did) quite a number of years ago, I renewed it for 3 years. Trust were also the same company who refused to accept a claim on the very same policy when I was working in a freelance capacity for another company. Trust were also the ones when I questioned this and tried to cancel the policy that said it was Illegal and threatened to report me if I cancelled. Trust were also the same company who when called out, refunded the policy minus 1 months admin fee.
  2. He also answered a direct question and got his throat chewed for no apparent reason.
  3. @5 shires Yes and he answered the question you asked. He has two, and had no major problems. I also posted earlier in the thread. I have an ST8 and work with another guy with the same machine. No major issues over the last 2-3 years.
  4. Now it seems ok.
  5. There is nothing there. Just a white square with internal server error. Similar to your post in the treehouse, but that is just a black square.
  6. The new TM Evo with the double bridge is pretty sturdy... beefed up more that the old TM. I am my fourth TM. I am not a fan boy either. It just fits rights. Maybe I was just lucky and got my first one dialled in then each time I got a new one I just set and taped the straps in the same places. Just got an Evo and done the setup but waiting for some less wet weather to try it out on a job. I know this doesn’t help much but it is my 0.2cents worth. 🤪
  7. No idea why it has underlined the names Protos and Petzl. Edit, it appears they are hot links.
  8. A proton has straps? I have never noticed but it isnt my lid. I borrow one on occasion when we need coms. No chinstrap on that lid. Cant say I am a fan of the protos. I get a hanging headache wearing it and the ear protection is gash. I normally use a Petzl Alveo vent. Both have chipper rated muffs. Maybe it is just the difference between the two but I dont feel like there is much noise reduction with the protos muffs down.
  9. A back scratcher, it’s great. 🤪 The shoulders are not as flexible as they used to be.
  10. I actually said don’t call yourself a Subby as it clouds the waters and makes things tricky. Call yourself Freelance or a contract climber, anything but a Subby. Phone an insurance company and say you want to go out subbying, of course they are going to try and sell you a policy. You own a company and say you want to get some outside help in to assist with workload, does the policy cover subbies? They say no, subbies (Bona Fide) need there own policy. Back to the first point. It really isnt that difficult to see the difference. Myself and others tried to explain the scenarios to you which you refused to accept. As you knew better, it might have been the way in Aviation due to the amount of money involved. You crack on about UK law. Then a trained legal professional comments and you start telling them the way it is. People are trying to help but if you cannot accept or see that then fair enough. Anyway, Ive just jumped in the Fjord after a Christmas Sauna. Bloody hell it was cold and my nuts had an argument with my body as they didnt want any of it! Mary Christmas.
  11. I started with fuckall and still have most of it left! 🤪🤪🤪
  12. God Jul
  13. The thing is you only ever really hear about the bad issues out there. If some one is happy with a brand or particular machine they don’t really shout about it. Plenty bash TW 230. I have used quite a few different ones. We have heard the stories but never experienced the issues myself. Plenty go on about the Forst, same again, I have used ST8’s pretty much solid or the last3 years. Owning one myself and one of the guys I work with a lot, has one. Neither has missed a beat and will pretty much out chip equivalent models on a daily basis. The main brand I have used and haven’t really had great experiences with have been Greenmech. But then they have been hire machines and not worth the cost of the diesel to run them, extremely slow at chipping and having to reverse the rollers a lot to get bit to go through. No doubt just because the feed rollers need touching up as they were hire machines. Take everything with a pinch of salt. Horses for courses really.
  14. Looks 'Jen U Wine' to me.
  15. Oh him, Don't worry about Joe, we don't! Sorry Joe. Love ya really mate... just not in a Stubby / Khriss kind of way. Merry Christmas everyone.
  16. Who is Joe?
  17. Paddy, I think he was trying to help.
  18. I thought you worked for a company?
  19. Doesn’t mean you don’t have to deal with it. Sometimes it’s like climbing a spiky hedgehog. I prefer it live tbh. It least it is flexible and the weight of the foliage helps you to peel it off the tree.
  20. True, But I would want more than that.
  21. Lot of Ivy. Pain in the arse. Whether you SRT over it or strip it in the way up. It is still a pain to deal with and to clear from the floor. 750 is cheap for that tree. IMO Where are you located?
  22. Glad it is not just me. I just said I don't respond to threats now cancel the policy. They took a month for admin fees or some such bollox and refunded what was left in the year.
  23. Trust are a bunch of barrow boys in my experience. When I tried to cancel my PL with them they said it was illegal and threatened to report me.
