    I would buy whatever length rope suits the trees you do. If you have 20m rope already, get a 45m, as stated earlier go for a thinner diameter. I climb on NE tachyon in varying lengths. I also have a 45 metre Imori which has been in a ropebag in my workshop for about a year. As for splice or tieing a knot. Most things have been covered apart from the fact that a splice retains more of the strength of the rope than a bowline for example. I cannot remember the figures exactly but a splice is significantly stronger than a bowline or other termination knot.

    did a search but not sure they are coming up with the right ones. I found them for 150 but it says trainer in the description. That is 5 quid more than he Crestas. Being a tight ersed Northerner, I went for the Crestas at 145. Edit: there you go mate.     You still after a pair even though 2 people have said they fall off your feet sharpish. Stuart Sports - 015394 43001 - They had quite a few pairs of Crestas in in September when I got mine. Might be worth a call. Nod also said he may be getting some in November. I havent spoken to him about them recently though. Hope this helps.

    I actually ordered a pair from the outdoor warehouse only to have him email me the next day - not in my size. I ended up speaking to the uk importer and asked who had the last batch of them. It was a company in Windermere. Saved myself over 50 quid as they were knocking them out for 145 plus p&p.

    Pretty well mate. I don't wear them everyday to climb in by have done a few large rj's in them and grippy is a word I'd use. John Shutler has had a pair for quite a while and would be better to comment on the longevity. Where did you get them from?

    I don't think you be disappointed mate with the crestas. They are snug but get conifer every day. My only gripe is that the ankle is a bit lower than my airstreams which aids movement. In my case I had a bit of a fall and damaged the ligaments in my left ankle about 7-8 months ago. It's getting better but still aches a bit pruning in these boots. Especially after a long day.
