  1. Mark do you want to borrow it? I have a spare stool aswell if you like, so you will be able to reach it.
  2. I have a telescopic bar that fits inside the doorframe. That reminds me, I must fit it!
  3. Michael Hutchence style?
  4. I know 3 people who make documentaries. One is a line producer for inside natures giants, she also did fox week live The other two guys are both documentary makers and strangely enough all three have worked together in the past but didn't realise they all new me and my family. What is your plan Dan?
  5. But if the tree was stable enough to climb... Which it was. What would be different of pottering around for a bit underneath it to remove the fence panels? Interesting thread. I had one a few years ago. Luckily I could tie into a neighbouring tree. Swing into the crown. Dismantle to a stick before the fell. We felled it at an angle but for a laugh I removed saws, lanyards etc and as the tree was going over I surfed it down until my climb line took up the tension and I swung away to my anchored tree. We did film it but it was in the days before smart phones and the guy with the phone was also on the pull line. He couldn't hold the phone still for laughing.
  6. Why would you want to climb on it? I don't think I'd want to.

Nice vids Reg. hope your well mate.
  8. Well last year they had a Hort show with a huge footfall. Why the powers that be can't use a bit of grey matter and combine the two event then IMO it will dwindle away. What was once a great show is really lacking these days! In fact I would go as far to say it isn't worth the effort to attend. That must be saying some thing as it is only about 40 mins from me.
  9. Probably not this year as each year it has been quieter and quieter. I used to really enjoy this show but this year I am gonna plumb for the Cutters and Climbers event.
  10. Sorry cannot help with the HMRC query. Have you tried speaking to them at the 'Office' or your accountant.
  11. It is like two virtual worlds in here... Hope it gets sorted mate.
  12. Sorry Paul. Just seen you had replied to this. The roller is placed under your outside of the thigh. You can stretch from your erse to your knee. Hope it clear up soon mate.
  13. Check your other thread NZ Paul. I responded in that. Can't be arsed typing it again.
  14. Tight IT band giving you lower back pain? Try and get hold of a foam roller. Google it. Amazon sell them about 20 quid. Great for backs and it band stretches. That is what I use anyway when I had problems. The alternative was my Muay Thai trainer stretching out the it band by exerting pressie and rolling a broom handle down the outside of my thigh with about 14 stone of pressure. Now that hurt.
  15. There are some picture on here somewhere that tony posted. He was looked tiny at the top. I think he measured it, tony or Ben Ballard will know. Gents?
  16. I think you were about right on the first one. Not sure the exact size before or after I cut it as I didn't measure it. The tree tony posted was well over a 100 feet IIRC. Bloody wopper it was.
  17. Jesse, that lime tree Tony posted was a lot bigger than 21 -22 metres. Tony posted some pics of it when he worked the tree and having seen it in the flesh prior to Tony's reduction. It was a very large tree.
  18. Didn't know you climbed Jon? Personally I wouldn't bother about the vibes. It is a climbing saw. It isn't likely to be ran full tit for long is it?
  19. Maybe it is just a modern version of Pampas grass?
  20. Good luck Tony. All the best for your venture. As for trucks, I just drive whatever I am asked. Have driven a fair few including Dyna, canter, Isuzu, transit, Iveco and a number of 7.5t's. I would go Isuzu or Iveco.
  21. Enjoy your drink. You are a harsh man boasting about alcohol like that to Mark though. Especially during his delayed dryathlon. Haha.
  22. I do believe the trees were surveyed and were originally requested to be pollarded. The LA TO came back and granted a lighter rj. I am sure Ross will be along soon enough to clarify. Cheers for your responses though.
  23. So Jesse, I have a question for you. Opinion are good we all have them, good and bad and this is a discussion forum afterall. So would you have gone ahead with a job such as this one, even though you didn't agree on the spec the TO had proposed/allowed? I would be out of business if I refused to do every spec I came across because I didn't think it was right. BTW. I am the Mr Rule, Ross was referring to in the OP. I may or may not agree to the spec but if I didn't do it then I wouldn't get paid.
  24. Nice looking job there mate. Quick question... how do you plan on getting the heat shrink on as you have already formed the eye? I tend to put the shrink on before I pull the eye through. Keep it loose and then once all is good I shrink it up.
  25. I would say it takes 1 to change a light bulb as we are all pretty resourceful. The other 7 will stand around discussing how they would have done it, but better...
