  1. Aaron had the crown out of the tree by about 11am. Had the trunk down by about 1.30 after a brew and lunch. All ready to go by 2.30 - 3 pm but we ended up waiting until 4.45 for the Grab lorries to remove the timber. If the lorries had been there all day then we would have been off site by 3.30 at the latest. The stump was ground out on a different day.
  2. David. The tree had been in decline over the past few years. Grifola frondosa present an as the tree was situated right at the entrance to a busy school they reluctantly decided to remove and replant. SL Treecare replanted with a copper beech after grinding the stump out. They chose CB due to the presence of the fungi and replanting another Oak probably wouldn't have been a good idea. Steve is gonna send me a picture of the replanted. Keep the huggers happy.
  3. The stumps was ground out months ago and replacement tree planted. The school and contractor opted for a Copper Beech replacement as opposed to another Oak as Grifola was present.
  4. I think the heaviest lump was 3.8 tons. I couldn't tell you on the camera. The shots were setup by a teacher at the school. We didn't know it was being filmed. All credit goes to the school on that one.
  5. The video was given to me from Steve the company owner. I just added an old favourite, the tune and credits. A couple of pics of the job... .
  6.
  7. This was a job completed earlier in the year. Removal of a mature Oak that had been in decline for a number of years. One of the teachers at the school had setup a time lapse camera and edited a video of the removal. Forgot to add, AaronMJ did the crown and I did the stem. I hope you like music, I changed it especially. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vjvqIraVp0]Oak Removal Time Lapse Trinity School - YouTube[/ame]
  8. I did out the zk1 above it for a little go. Worked great but would be one major problem if the wrench inverted and contacted the zig zag. Free fall if some thing heavy were to co tact it.
  9. I didn't have a go in work conditions and as I mentioned in another thread time will tell. Seriously though I was impressed. Sit back if any seemed minimal.
  10. Nice pics Ed.
  11. No offence meant mate. I get you. It is the people who I know and climb with on a regular basis that use them that are evangelical. They will not let it lie when I tell them I am not too keen and dont want a go. I think it offends them in some way. I think it is funny and refuse there offer further.
  12. Absolutely no sitback on the zig zag, whatsoever. As for the LJ, I hate climbing on them and yes I have tried on a number of occasions. I do notice that LJ users tend to be very evangelical about them. Maybe that is one of the reason I shy away from them, then again I shy away from most evangelical types.
  13. Getting to the tips is my speciality.
  14. I lose about 8lb every morning... Seriously though, the only real formulae to losing weight is to utile more calories than you intake. Stick with me fatties and soon you'll be skinny. Oh, eat lots of chillies as this increases your metabolism.
  15. I doubt he would have made it that far in the first place... Best I duck for cover before a green oval heads my way!
  16. Look up treesnakey on here. He is looking for drivers. His real name is Jake and the company is oxleas Treecare. Look in the employment section on here as he has put a few posts up recently.
  17. Just had a message from Nod at Treeworker. He has just received a shipment of AKU Cresta's and they are ready for sale. Stock levels are up and the prices are excellent. Bargains to be had on small sizes 6-7 (105 GBP) 8-10 (145 GBP).

  19. Well on Thursday I went back to regular mix and the saw was running a treat! I had given it a good blow out on Tuesday evening, so maybe that helped. I am back with the green contractor on Monday, so I will see how it runs with the green 2 Stroke oil again.
