  1. The stupidity of some in our industry never ceases to amazes me. No wonder we are often seen as less than professional.
  2. I'm fairly sure this happened to us a few months back. We were taking out a load of road side trees for the LA, when a pickup and entec chipit, pulled up across the other side of the road, the driver knocked on the door and spoke to the home owner, he kept pointing at us. They got some work at that house and then proceeded to knock at all the houses (that had trees or hedges) up the road they picked up another job further up the road. Each time the home owner came to the door, the guy pointed at us, so I'm fairly sure he was say they were with us.
  3. Stevie Blair is going to love that!!!!! If it were mine, I'd guard that blade, especially with kids about
  4. The UK population is growing due to immigration NOT breeding. As previously stated the average is under 2 children per couple, this is fact.
  5. Mines two handed and will be staying that way, I've seen too many old boys at the APF with less than 10 digits.
  6. Unlike the rest of us who just stand round picking our noses
  7. If my children don't fill the country immigrants will, I know which I prefer. We as a country have not been self sufficient for hundred of year, in Victorian times we imported as much or more food than we do know, of course back then we imported food from our own lands, that were part of the empire. The current BS about not being able to produce enough food,is just a smoke screen to give big business an excuse to start using GM. The planet currently produces far more food than we need, much of it is wasted.
  8. Lee, why do they need land with walls and in many cases chalet type park homes, not caravans?? Its OK slagging off the government for wanting every one to pay their way, but do Gypsies not use the NHS? Why should we have to pay for it, but they get it for free??
  9. Me and the wife were saying the same, her exacted words were "pedophiles must love this"
  10. I guess its because training is a relatively new thing. The most skilled guys I have worked with have been doing the job from before there were tickets. Also those who are good at there job tend to be too busy doing it to go on more courses. I remember a guy who worked for fountains, he had the old units (like me) the H&S guy on site was not happy that he did not have the new units. He then proceeded to rig down the biggest nastiest pop down over the power lines, the H&S guy soon shut up.
  11. I can honestly say that in my experience I have found the opposite to be true.
  12. egnsean, I think you are confusing "treequip" with "oddbird", it was oddbird that made the "well done for being alive" comment, not treequip.

    Unless its a U1250, you are 2.5T overloaded:sneaky2:
  14. Yes I agree, that comment was a bit pathetic Clearly some people have a different view of danger to others. When using a saw, you are in control of the situation and as you state your experience equips you to know what to expect. In reality driving is far more dangerous, if I'm on the Mway doing 70mph, I am only in control of my vehicle, not all the other vehicles, that could be being driven by assorts of different people, the very young, the very old, the very stupid, people on mind altering substances, people contemplating suicide, I could go on. Yes give me a saw, where I'm controlling most of the situation over driving every time.
  15. The fire may have been a few years ago, possibly the builders. It can take years for fire damage to become apparent.
