  4. Chain should be OK. I had 8 tooth on mine for years, got some new rims and the saw was awful, then I realized I'd been sold 7's, changed back to 8's happy days again!!!:Thimbu:

  12. Is that not heavier than a 3.5 tonner, that was built as a 3.5 tonner???? meaning less pay load.
  13. I was done for my old mog being over weight. They put it on a rolling road and said "its got the sort of brakes we like on artic's". I was 2 tonne over on the rear axel, they freely admitted that the brakes were more than adequate for the extra weight. I still got done, its the weight on the plate, not what it will safely carry.

With this kind of misinformation, from those within the trade and should really know better, there is little chance of the public becoming better informed and less anti soft wood Weight for weight hard wood and soft wood have pretty much the the same calorific value. Soft wood is lighter (than the better hard woods), so volume for volume you will burn more. But as its generally bought in by weight and easier to process, there is scope for a decent profit if marketed well.
