  1. Bigger, but not big. To me small mogs are 900,1100, (round cab) Big mogs are 1600 upwards.
  2. LOL, how did you find that?? I thought it had disappeared into the bowels of youtube:lol:
  3. Look at the right of the cut stump, there are two small cuts, they were made by a narrow blade, not a chain.
  4. They are both "wee" mate, one is just a little longer
  5. This was on a large Beech I felled this week. The tree was being felled because of its size, age and proximity to several property's. I was contracted in for the fell and had not seen the tree until the day of the job. I removed a hedge and some Clematis and found this bracket (sorry about the poor quality of the pic's) I showed the client the bracket and told them I thought the tree would be hollow and that there decision to remove had just become a very good one!! Fortunately the majority of the rot was on the compression side of the hinge, other wise I would have had to dismantle.
  6. New cars have VAT on them, but not SH ones, commercials always attract VAT when sold by a normal VAT reg Co. I think
  7. Did you get a nice lunch????????
  8. Cucumbers grow on trees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who knew!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Just been for a look on the web. The reason I have charged VAT on capital sales is because I claimed the VAT back at the time of purchase. Because no VAT was charged at the time of purchasing this vehicle, VAT could not be charged when it was sold (if the seller was on the flat rate scheme) It would also seem there are more than one flat rate scheme, so some may be different. Good job I leave these things to my accountant This it taken from HMRC site. 15.9 Output tax due on disposal of capital expenditure goods Where you have reclaimed input tax on capital expenditure goods, then you must account for output tax at the standard VAT rate (not at the flat rate) on the disposal price of those goods when they are eventually sold out of the business. Example: ■A business on the scheme buys a delivery van for £6,000 inc VAT of £1,000 and it is not used for anything else. As the van is capital expenditure goods, VAT can be reclaimed. When the business later sells or part exchanges the van, say for £2000, it must account for the VAT on this amount at 20%, not at the flat rate. Note: If you have not claimed input tax on capital items, either by choice or because it was not allowed, you must include the sale of those items in your flat rate turnover.
  10. I stand corrected. Seems very strange, as you can claim back the VAT on any capital purchase over £2K. I would have expected them to want the VAT back when you sell it on. My accountant does my returns, so I'm sure he knows what he's doing.
  11. Wheres the big one????????? Its a very sad to see a mog with its throat cut but I'm sure you'll have her sorted real soon
  12. If your on the flat rate scheme you would still charge VAT on the sale.
  13. Yes you do. The person selling it to you must not have been VAT registered so could not charge the VAT.
  14. I see a Hare or a Donkey.
  15. I'm not charged for making bacs payments or receiving them. Do any banks charge for receiving them??
  16. If it works for you Nick keep it up!!!! As an old joiner told my dad when he was an apprentice "there are are 99 ways of doing something right and only one way of doing it wrong"
  17. This I find particularly insulting I know your really dislike me Tim, but I think this particular attack is very, very low.
  18. Please explain to me how it is "aggressive" or "demeaning"????????? I made it clear it was only my opinion Moderator are allowed to hold opinions.
  19. The chances of a small piece of timber falling from a tree and killing some one are tiny and trees tend to only shed when the weather is very bad and people are indoors. Cars are huge and often kill or maim people. I am normally impressed by your posts, but on this subject I think your talking utter nonsense.
  20. IMO, its better to work to live, not live to work.
  21. This is a myth. We used to put drain pipes into cavities to stop them rotting, but fungus does not grow under water, so water is not a bad thing.
