  1. Not tried a TM, so cannot say.
  2. Yes mate it came with caritool, never used one before, I found it very useful!!!! (just one side, on the one I've been using)
  3. I was very kindly loaned a Harkie harness by Phil Edmondson (Bold ed on here) who sells Harkie gear for Redwood. I have found it to be really good. In fact I much prefer it to my Treeflex. The tool loops are much stronger than many. The leg loops existent back up your thigh, which stops that unpleasant nip you sometimes get from the back of the leg loop. The elastics that hold the back of the leg loops is nice and wide. I really like the quick release clips on the waste and leg loops, if makes getting it on and off very easy. I have only had one of the quick release clips come unfastened on one of the leg loops, this bid not really worry me, as I think even if all three came unfastened at once (the chances of which I think are billions to one) I would still be held with the harness by the bridge. I found it very comfortable, both when sitting in it when hanging from the line and when using the side D's when on spikes. Its very robust and well constructed, I think it will wear very well and have good working life. Harnesses are a very personal thing what works well for one does no necessarily work for another. I really like it, its going to be hard to go back to my Treeflex, but I've not had it that long, so can't really justify replacing it just yet, but when I do I will be getting a Harkie!! Please feel free to ask any thing you feel I have not covered
  4. Be careful. They can be more dangerous than they look. A lad I knew was killed by one, he came off, it flew up in the air and landed on him.
  5. :thumbup:very true my friend, very true!!!!!!!
  6. Did you know that the term "rule of thumb" comes from the fact that it used to be lawful for a man to beat his wife with a stick, but the stick could be no thicker than his thumb. People also used to think that burrs could be caused by beating a tree with a stick, hence the idea that beating a Walnut was a good thing. We used to be a barbaric people, thankfully most of us have move on.
  7. Holding back due to fear of knives and the like just means that scum bags can do as they please. As others have said if you fear for your safety stay in the car and shout through the window or ring the police and have them on the line while your speaking to the scrotbag. But in my experience these kind of people are cowards and if you wade in like you mean business they soon back down.
  8. You numbnut!! The fact that you even own a depth guage says it all While were talking about this chain (which is awesome IMO) does anybody else think its a bit suspicious that Stihl bring out a much better chain for the launch of there new saw:sneaky2: Is the new saw really more powerful?? Or is it just the better chain?? Has any one with a new saw tried using the old chains on it?? is really a more powerful saw??
  9. or sex in a night club toiled cubicle.
  10. Its much easier to get large quantities of smaller diameter, uniform softwood than hardwood. Making processing with a processor much easier and faster.
  11. There not needed, as if they get to near the edge they can just grab the wires
  12. You cocked up there. You should have agreed with her and then said your not into wood selling as your a tree surgeon, however you will be happy fell the trees and deal with the brash, for a price:sneaky2: But you will leave her all the valuable fire wood, which she will easily sell to recoup her costs and make a handsome profit
  13. Bloody hell!!! Rust on the chassis and fungi on the chip box!!! Best sell it quick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. That just about sums it all up these things are tick box exercises that cover the bosses arse. It all bollocks in reality.
