  1. I think your being very modest there mate!! Very well done to you both!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. I had my best year ever two years ago. Labour just kept throwing money at the problem to postpone the true affects of the crash (in a desperate attempt to stay in power) thats just meant that we now have an even bigger deficit and more pain now its finally being dealt with.
  3. The problem today is that the last boom was so big and so long, times were very, very good for such a long time. Many have only ever traded in the good times and so think its the norm. I was in retail in the late 80's and early 90's, we were paying 17.5% on our overdraft, 1000's were loosing their homes, it was horrendous. I'm starting to think that the way things are right now could be how they are going to be for many years to come. I'm no longer waiting for things to pick up, I'm starting to change the way I do things so that I can still make a living as things are.
  4. Sailors ate their food off square wooden trays, not round plates, hence the phrase "three square meals". The raised edge of the tray was called the "fiddle", if your tray was over filled. because you were in cahoots with the person serving the food you were said to be "on the fiddle"
  5. Mines more grey than ginger these days, does that help???????? The Ports very nice, cheers mate
  6. The coffin thing is not true, decomposition can cause the timber to on the coffin lid to peel, leaving what looks like scratch marks, so bells were fitted by some. But I'm pretty sure "saved by the bell" comes from boxing.
  7. Good site!!! They even recommend having a beard when felling, they clearly recognize all the best fallers have beards
  8. They need some one to open your envelop, take a note of who has sent them the cheque and then pay it in, its much less hassle for them if you pay by DD. Also cheques tend to arrive late, so DD is better for there cash flow.
  9. If my eight year old daughter saw that picture she would think very little of it, however if she read an offensive word she would repeat it without even knowing what it meant.
  10. I was offered £2.75 phf about 6 years ago.
  11. Legally normal ag tractors can only do 20mph on the highway.
  12. A new full ag big mog would be well over £100K.
  13. The first unimogs had air cylinders to lift the three point linkage, it must not have been very good as they soon changed to hydraulic.
  14. " You don't stop doing things because you get old, you get old because you stop doing things!! "
  15. Ah, right, yes mine is on a button. Surely you don't need to disengage the PTO every time you want to spool out the cable?
  16. Yes it should, it's just a smaller version of mine and mine does.
  17. Are you selling them Carl??????
  18. I'd sooner listen to him than you !!!
