  1. I've come to the conclusion that my best option is to die young.
  2. I generally both cut and pull. I attach the rope and tension. Then make the cut, leaving a good hinge, the get back in the mog and pull. Normally reversing to allow a good view of whats happening.
  3. Cause you did I bet you set your VCR
  4. Maybe. If cut correctly you may have got it going 45degrees off target, not 90. A good thick hinge and a proper pull would have meant the hinge holding until it was going over. IMO the way it goes is just shoddy cutting, IMO.
  5. Not a chance that is Yew And as for the "tree surgeon" who said it was cherry oh dear Mick has nailed it, IMHO.
  6. I would have put the rope up with a throw line. Cut correctly I see no reason not to fell, especially with a pull line. Obviously dependent on the condition of the base.
  7. Without seeing it in the flesh I can't say, but I've felled 100's of Lombardys over the years, some in pretty tight spots.
  8. So you think no tree should be felled, unless there is nothing within falling distance in all directions?
  9. I knew you'd take it the wrong way. Your comment surprised me, thats all, no big deal.
  10. Do you really think? Not being arsey,. The fear of killing or seriously injuring someone means far more to me, this fine will not make me think differently in any way. I would expect a cock up like that to be career ending.
  11. The video is shocking and upsetting. But am I in a position to judge? Have I ever had friends or coworkers killed by some one with a concealed gun? No. The guy does look to reach back for something. I guess the cop was sh1t scared he was going to die. Did he over reached? probably, but maybe many of us would have in the same situation. I'm just very glad its not a situation I will ever find myself in.
  12. Why do you think previous POTUS have not done it?
  13. Google is your friend, go look, there's plenty of other sources I simply picked one.
  14. That makes a lot of sence, I've always found that timber left out that got snowed on is bad to burn, Maybe it's the freezing that lets more water in.
  15. Go stick a log in your oven, I guarantee it will dry.
  16. Thats a shame Stubby, if she'd come in for brew you could have asked her what Phillip had said when Harry told them he wanted to marry Megan, I dread to think what he came out with
  17. IMO, this is a ridiculous comparison, a property is an asset and almost without fail will increase in value, often the listed features add to its value. A property if maintained correctly will last pretty much indefinitely. A tree on the other hand generally has no real value, except to those who like it, but even then its still in real terms a liability that requires maintenance and has a finite life. Personally, I think TPO'd trees should be maintained from the public purse.
