  1. I can genuinely say I never made mistakes like that. Why would you?
  2. FFS!! what a cock!!!
  3. I had a feeling you'd get arsie, thats a shame. If you think being a "full man" is defined by size thats real sad. I'm sorry I touched a nerve, it was not my intension, I was simply offering a different view.
  4. Can't say I agree with that. When your bigger you tend to loose flexibility and obviously weight more. Yesterday I was taking the top out of a very dead leaning HC over a green house, I was very glad I was not heavier and actually wished I was a bit lighter. Also your joints are make out of the very same stuff as a 6stone lady, who do you reckons is more likely to need new hips etc, in the years to come? Have you notice how big dogs never live as long as small ones and the littleuns backends don't go. All the fit older people I know have always been pretty lean. Obviously these are only my personal musings, no offence intended
  5. Its a poor workman that blames his tools.
  6. You have repeated yourself there
  7. Fixed that for you.
  8. 66 hands down my favourite!!! What a cracking saw!!, mines a 1999 model, bought new, never missed a beat and as strong as ever! For many years I only used my 020 and 66,did every thing I needed. In recent years I've had a 460, which is a good saw, but last few weeks I've had the 66 out due to a bust clutch spring on the 460. My oh my, what a saw the 66 is. I'll not be leaving it behind in future when there is any decent timber to be cut!! The 66 never fails to put a smile on my face
  9. Are there? Not that many round here.
  10. I remember when I first started as a goundie on £30 a day self-employed, I ran a 2cv6 to get to work. I remember the lads stopping at the butty van on the way to site. I genuinely could not afford a bacon bap. I'd have £3 and that was my petrol money for the car for a week. I'd take my saw home full (gaffers fuel) so I could cut fire wood in the evening.
  11. You had BEER!!!. I recall shopping with my Mrs, we had £25 per week for our weekly shop, at Xmas we had £50!!! we were like kids in a sweet shop, I got a 4pack of Quicksave own brand bitter, I was like a pig in s**t
  12. Not just hell, but a special place in hell.
  13. I was 25 in 1994, IMO, the big difference is expectation. We did not expect the luxuries people today feel are their right.
  14. Sweet!!!
  15. I once worked with a lad, I was subby climbing, he was grounding. While doing the final clear up he was shovelling up sawdust into a wheelbarrow, but the barrow was few feet from where he was shovelling, so he kept dropping bits where I had swept. Sarcastically I said "why don't you move the barrow a bit further away".......................................HE DID!!! I was speechless Apparently he had previously worked in a pot-noodle factory, he held the pot while two other people put different things in the pot, he was replaced by a table.
  16. Finally you posted something I believe
  17. What like your referendum result prediction?
  18. Not necessarily. I'm in the fortunate position that I get offered far more work than I want to do. So I'd sooner work for those who pay in a timely fashion. What would be your cut-off point? 6months? 1year? 2years? As I say, for me its the principle, 30 days should be plenty long enough for anyone, IMO.
  19. I've reconnected a snapped pull cord on an 020/200 up the tree on several occasions. Fitted a new cord once too. Ideally I keep a fresh side cover in the cab and just swop it. Granted that needs a Multitool rather than just a Combispaner.
  20. I bet your glad you have the power to vote her out
  21. Indeed!! I seem to recall its only within the last 10 years or so that we finally paid off the HUGE bill we agreed to pay the USA for their help in WW2. Why on earth have none of those we saved in Europe payed us?
  22. Can't see that happening, sure they will try to water it down as much as they can and get the softest Brexit they can, BUT the Torys know all too well that if they try and defy the will of the people they will be finished. UKip or some new party will form and UK politics will change in a way never before seen, IMO.
  23. Looked much slower than a decent man, IMO.
