  1. 576 hands down fantastic bit of kit. Husky have done a good job with this one taken the 372 and made it better. Cuts like the clappers with a 18" bar on and still has the power to drag round a 24" in the hardwoods.
  2. Giant Talon 0. I use to have one and it was ace got solen from work. I recently replaced it with a Talon 1 as i could afford to spend the money for a 0.
  3. I put an 18" bar on my 660. It cut very very quickly. Won't want to use it like that all the time though.
  4. Got a similar problem with a massy. Thats about a 3k repair.
  5. Mine have lasted very well in the woods. Only thing wrong with them is where i melted the material with a 372 exhaust dressing out some larch.
  6. I'm sure there is. I just left them unsealed. I use PVA i know there are better things out there but i've pva to work quite well.
  7. My advice would be to try and lift 2 tonnes at 2m with the crane. Thats the only way to be sure.
  8. Got some drying at the moment. It seems to split if at the ends quite badly. Smells sort of fruity when you cut it. Nice for the first cut then it's not very nice at all
  9. I do an hour each way. Tend to try and stay within 50 miles of home. However i'd go anywhere if something i wanted to do came up, such as some sky lining.
  10. I have it and it's been useful when applying for jobs as people can 'see' you have the basic knowledge to opperate the thing safely. I also have clearing saw and with some training and know how it's a really powerful tool. Well worth having that ticket. Not widely used over hear but for a bit of thinning they're ace.
  11. Just seen the site. Yikes best part of a grand too rich for my blood. Still looks bloody handy though.
  12. Yes it does. Especially on a 346. I found out the expensive way. I have a Husky one but i'm thinking of a STIHL one so i can see how much fuel i have left.
  13. Cool where did you get such a tool. I rather fancy one of them.
  14. Took a year for my CS32 to come through. My last few have come through quite quickly about 4 weeks.
  15. Looking good. IS that a band saw attachment for the saw?
  16. Nice bit of kit. Someone will be happy with those. Looks like they'll cope with some big bits of timber.
  17. It does sound expensive but it is an expensive bit of kit. Try Trust.
  18. I've had problems with veg oil. Seems to gum up the bars and chains if you leave it on for a few days.
  19. The Bandit PTO i had on demo had a belt drive.
  20. PTO chippers are much cheaper but you do have to have a tractor or a landy with a pto to be able to use them. With my pto chipper on my tractor i can go and chip in most loactions where it would be a pain to get a road tow too. Just had a Bandit 150 out on demo i used a 70hp tractor and it worked brilliantly i then took it off and put it on a 90hp tractor and it was even better. If i had a bigger tractor it would no doubt work even better. Less no stress kicking in thus much higher chip production. In my old job of domestic tree work and garden maintenance a pto chipper and a tractor wouldn't have been woth the investment but a small road tow was. Now i'm in forestry a pto chipper is invualable bit of kit.
  21. I had a Bandit 150xp out on demo this time last week. Only had a 70hp tractor on it but it was fantastic. Hand fed very well with brush wood, timber and slab wood from the sawmill. Crane fed the same stuff in and it still worked really well. We the decided to really test it got a few 12" bits of Norway spruce that were 10' long and put them it. Even with 70hp it didn't phase the thing at all no stress kicked in obviously but if i'd slowed the feed speed right down i think that could have been avoided. Throwing in multipul small stems with the crane say 3-4"x10' still didn't phase it. So impressed with the Bandit that we're buying it.
  22. Nice find. I think my hoppus book is blue
  23. The needel bearing in my 357xpg keep going. I do grease them too they just seem to break. I think i've put about 5 needle bearings in the dam thing in 3 years.
  24. Wilsons have a reasonableby priced 5.5t double drum igland at the moment.
