  1. Jensen are bloody good.I have had mine for three years, its 11 years old and very reliable. Easy to fix when you need to,alot of generic parts, simple electric system.Top Machine.
  2. Can you not get the Engine out?Be alot easier to get the bolts out with the Donk on its side.
  3. Take the "Sissy Valve"out of your Saws, replace with a Bolt and learn to start them properly.LOL.
  4. Hardly Believable [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqI8QsAZAYQ&feature=related]Russian trucks at their best.?????????? ????????? ? ?????? ????. - YouTube[/ame]
  5. Once I used a Bit of Branch as a File Handle.
  6. Its just that we like the Russians.
  7. Bush Rigged D7 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_O8f-gCXf8&feature=related]D7G Dozer on Stump - YouTube[/ame]
  8. Depends on extraction direction uphill/down Hill. Wether you have a wheeled Arch or are dragging the Loggs Flat behind. How big the Timber is and wether you are restricted to pulling to a Track or if you can drive where you please. Either of the two Dozers are commonly used for Timber Extraction, the D4 being faster and more nimble, weighs less so it won't pug up the Clay to much. Either way, stay out of the Spings

  10. I think a 7.5 tonner is more reliable as it is more suited to the work we do.This may be because it is less likely to be over loaded in the course of a days work.
  11. Gelbe Seiten - Branchenbuch - SMS Auskunft - Stadtplan That is literally "Yellow Pages" in Germany. OR Google.de ,enter Baumdeinst (Dortmund,Cologne,Bochum,Dusseldorf) and you will find as many as I did in 5 seconds. "Viel Glück!"
  12. That is a very good question. When working with Timber,Tension is best avoided or managed in a way that reduces the likelyhood of injury.Creating Tension and then being close to where the Energy is releasted is doubly dangerous. The calculations you showed us are depend on there being constants.Constant load on the Rope and Constant intergrity within the Hinge, should either of the above two be compromised then the likely hood of an accident or damage increases exponentially.
  13. I was talking about this with my workmate the other day,I reckon to demand top money as a contract Climber you should offer to bring Saws,Rigging kit and GRCS or the like. That might make you more valuable to one man bands and Landscape Firms who might otherwise pass up large technical jobs.
  14. Bad news. What kind of lowering device was in use? How was the Ratchet Strap Mounted? How much aproximate load was the system subject to?
  15. I mainly use an Axe to pound in Wedges,I broke one Fiskars Axe on the first day and another one that replaced it shortly after. I have used Axes with Yellow Plastic Handles and they worked well.
  16. I'm not sure if the Axes with Black Plastic Handles are Fiskars or not? Avoid them, the don't stand up to Hard use.
  17. You can do anything easily with the Longest Gaffs. They can be a bit tense on smaller diameter Trees with thin bark. However its nice to not have to pick where you Spike on Big Poplars or Old Pines etc.
  18. Since you know the tools side of the job, cost out the kit you need, insurance and advertising costs and how you are going to trasition from "on the books" to making your own way.Contract climbing and doing a bit of your own work seems to be the normal way. Winter is a slack time for most unestablished firms, get you feelers out in the Autum for other income streams, any kind of work is still money. All the best and keep at it.
  19. Speaks for its self. BBC News - Five arrests in 'slavery' raid at Greenacre travellers' site
  20. HE IS IN FRANCE So all the Testicles about "CS this" and "Back cut" that are irrelevant. UK Standards don't apply and the French do everything backward anyhow.
  21. Make a kind of Myth Busters episode using it.You could have one like "Is it possible to not look like a Homosexual when driving a Beetle?"
