  1. I had a T22,it was Blue and had absolutely no padding it.Or loops to hang anything off. Maybe if the gear was as lacking in "Glamour" now as it was then,there would be a hell of alot fewer "Tree tarts" about.
  2. Pretty all of the above sounds like a lack of maintenance coupled with abuse,on top of inexperianced/incompetent people doing the repairs. You can change the top and bottom feed roller bearing(s) in a couple of hours. Ignition barrels jamb on pretty much all machines in dusty enviroments,you have to wash them out with WD40 periodically and pay attention that the key returns from the start position. There is a bolt that winds into a dimple on the cutter wheel to hold it when you are changing blades,its under where the bolts are that hold the cover on the Cutter disc housing.Failing that,use a Axe across the fins on the back of the Cutter wheel. The Steel on Jensens is excellent,even my spastic welding seems to stick.If you think its then and tinny,have a look at a Timberwolf. All machines require maintenance,especially Wood Chippers,considering how much vibration they are subject to.
  3. IF the Gaffer wants you to run,then do it or find another job. Its not up to you to set the tempo of the job.Running,down a drive or about a Garden is not the Royal Marine Assault course and all this talk of "Rolling Ankles" is merely a display of the Pathetic self possessed entitled attitude that sadly prevails in Society today.
  4. Yank Trucks are just that,Trucks.Not light weight ponce wagons with a extra driving axel up the front. Heavy components,large Engines,Comfortable and reliable. My last Suburban with a 6.2 V8 Diesel in it,used about the same fuel as a Transit van.And thats towing a 2 ton trailer all day,every day on very steep roads. I have been using them for going on 8 years in the Arb industry,and wouldn't think of using anything else.I can get practically any part over the internet.The Engines and drive train are bullet proof. Year before last I was towed a Trailer of two tons and a Nissan Narvara that had a mini digger on a trailer up a hill in the snow.

  9. Do you really need Chainsaw foot "protection ?" I just use whatever hiking boots fit my feet,or Wesco boots from America in the Summer when I am feeling like a Logger.I have never cut a foot and frankly think that anyone who has is a bit of a Bell End.
  10. Quite right Peter. Allan is a dab hand on Hydraulic Tree jacks and sharpens the 52 inch bar to Perfection!
  11. Allan has been climbing for about a year.This is the largest Tree he has taken down so far. He learned how to wedge over Tops and climb 120ft+ Trees on the 10 week course he did when he left the forces.

  16. I took the carb out to fix some of the linkage and......can't remember the how the cut off contact goes back in.I have cocked about with this too long,can anyone help?

  19. What does it do? Not being funny but it looks like a Farm Tractor crossed with a Grapple Skidder.

  22. The base of the Tree is often Damp.Everything is often damp in Western Norway:001_smile: When I pulled it off,a chunk of the Bark came too.
  23. I think it depends on the type of kit and its potential to increase your profit. If you have a knackered chipper that breaks down alot,costs you more in the way of time over-run and repair costs.Then what you pay in finance might be the same as just the time lost per month with your old rig. This year I bought a newer wagon to replace my 1990 model.I hummed and arrrd but despite is highish cost,its ment that I have spent no time fixing it in nearly a year.
  24. I found this growing about six inches from the ground on a Mature Oak Tree.The Crown of the Tree was sparcer than normal. Can anyone tell me what the Fungus is? The fruiting body is about 1.5 inches across and was bright yellow similar to a Egg Yolk in colour when I found it.
  25. Haha,that sounds like my regular dealings with my local saw shop in Norway. two to three weeks wait for any parts to arrive. If they get the parts right.
