  1. .44 Magnum,so pretty ordinary. The .50 ones are banned here.Although they are substantially less powerful than a 20 gauge shotgun.
  2. My Desert Eagle in brushed satin nickle. Entirely impractical weapon, makes me grin like a loon every time I fire it though.
  3. You can use a 6" Chipper to chip 9" diameter Stems, you just have to do it nearly twice over.
  4. I'd Hake to think...
  5. I have had a couple of Zarges boxes for about 7 years.I think they are the best thing for the job. In my experience plastic boxes are a waste of time due to their relative fragility compared to Aluminium.
  6. Without a shadow of a doubt the air streams are the best arb boot i have owned. I am nearly two years on from my first pair.Which is the longest service I have had from a pair of boots. I suggest you try them for a bit longer Dave
  7. There can't be many "Tier one" Climbers that are also gifted mechanics like your self ian:thumbup: Following this thread with great interest.
  8. True. It was interesting to learn that fly tipping and dumped cars are not a recent phenomena too.

  10. First time out since I swapped the gearbox and painted it. Adjust the clutch tomorrow and tidy up the electrics
  11. I would use it.
  12. Light weight equipment is simply a derivative of engineering excellence. To be critical of an object that can achieve the same strength and function of another weighing twice as much,is a gross example of ignorance. If a Boeing 777F can carry a payload of 103,000kg from Hong Kong to Torronto, operating a thousand functions, who except for a Luddite would question the research and design of a multinational company whos product contains two moving parts?
  13. Pull off as much as you need in a coil, flip it over and then pull it up the Hill.
  14. The opportunity exists for a experienced second climber to assist with a small well equiped company in Bergen Norway.Working with Trees and equipment larger than the norm. The terms are full time "cards in" with pension and holidays after three months.Self employment is unavailable due to Norwegian Tax law. 15. Its a Pioneer Hatchet that was issued to Wehrmacht Mortar Crews during the War.
  16. This might be a challenge for the Axe experts. Who was this Hatchet made for and when? I researched the markings on it and came up with a bit of a supprise.
  17. Not sure.Do you think he might have had one of those "Swedish side strops" from back in the day? You know the ones that were just a bit of Cable with a Pussik on it? Not seen one of those for years. And topping down strops, three strand with a eye in it.
  18. Got the cab back on the Mog,after a repaint and replacement gearbox.
  19. How easy are they to turn? Could you turn them easily with a couple of fingers, without feeling much resistance?
  20. Alot of their work is classified Steve.
  21. Much like the time you were struck by a Meteorite, punched into the Earths crust only to surf the Magma out of a Volcano and ride a Turtle back to Norfolk Ian.
  22. No. Velcro the Brackets on the night before.
  23. On the cold calling idea.I have done it too, works very well.Especially if as stated you look professional. In addition to a professional image,it is also important to have professional tools. This little idea has made me thousands... Buy a volt meter from Ebay,£10 gets you one. Mask off the screen Spray paint it Green Remove Tape Now you have your own "cellulose integrity meter" When you knock on the door, ask the client if they would like a free Tree check. If yes, push both probes into the bark, turn the dial and write the readings down. Then get out your Collins World of Trees and index the reading against the page number that the particular Tree you are "reading" is on. Of course the reading and the page are miles out and viola! you have a sale!
  24. Ian Flatters.A man without limits.
