  1. I will just let the photo speak for them selves We where very lucky that one of our other vehicles spotted it and pulled us over as we had no indication that this had happened. PS this chipper has done less than 300hours
  2. was so gutted when the boss pulled the plug it was mega money but the real problem was that it was'nt certified safe to use in the eu or some thing along those lines the base vehicle is merlo and thay would'nt honour the warrante with the attachment i was being lined up for some trainning over in the states to be the operater.
  3. Love some of the american kit at one point my previous employer had been over and looked at one of these If ive got it right
  4. Jezz get over your selves a guy shows his wears and all he gets is slated ??? Personally like the setup first aid kit on a fuel can isnt something i would have on the list of kit but if the pocket was plain no cross then you could just keep a spare chain etc in there or go with the idea keep you risky paper work with it, If it has a spill stop spout the surely there little chance of contaminating the first aid kit ????? I the words of my hero "why cant you say something rightches for a change woof woof " Odd ball in kellys heros Just wish i did enought personal work to make it worth buy the aspen products much preferr it to normal fuel
  5. I like your style I know i will leave when
  6. Arbocop makes some good points i have had experiance with several forms setups of trainning provider from small independant trainer to larger out fits. I have had the pleasure of the following nptc trainners and asesor's Joe Hedger and John Trenchard at Arboventure, Tony Darbyshire and Rowland at Darbyshire trainning, John Townsend Steve Horsfeild plus others at Land based trainning, Lenny and Steve (cant remeber second names) Newlands Trainning. All of these out fits have high standards IMO and i past all my courses with varying feed back. My advice would be to bear in mind the cost of the course and traveling its that old chestnut "if its to cheap to be true" ask around guys localy to you who thay have used. From my experiance the following things have caused issues where's the course held ( travelling to venue) will thay supply suitable site for practical element, is there classroom/workshop toilets etc, do thay provide litreture for you to keep if so who there own or lantra, is the course run consectutivly from start to finish with out days away between training and assesment ( this has mixed veiws one of time to brush up or time to gain bad habbits ) What ever you choose best of luck
  7. Conifer, Pine, Willow, Poplar I'm bidding to win LOL
  8. Here my token towards the debate i have been 18m up a redwood when the the solinoid jammed causing the the mewp to jack it's self off the deck by at least 60cm lots of screaming from ground crew and me anchoring in to the tree very very quickly I am not a big fan of mewps and there are way to many accidents involving these bits of kit but thay do have there place in this industry we have them for lifting saves huge amounts of time
  9. These are the details that i have been able to piece together. Whilst at the chainsaw shop on tuesday a chap came in saying that a treesurgeon had been killed on sunday !! we all where suprised as we had'nt heard anything so he told us that the treesurgeon had been felling ivy covered trees and one became hung up at that point he started to cutt sections of the stem, he cut two sections started to cut third when the tree started to fall and he became trapped/crush under and died of his injurys. Then this afternoon one of out supervisors told us that a sub contract fail driver we have worked with was killed in a chainsaw related accident on sunday. I have worked with this person myself and all ways found him to very help and a first class machine operater a credit to his firm. As the details of the accident are second hand info i think its best to keep the identity anomous. Just to say that our thoughts are with his family, he was a Father and grandad father and i spoke highly of them.
