  2. Had a good sized beech that pinned an abc to the floor snapped one pole thought that had taken most of the tension out of line munched whole thing back to just clear of line started to do a step cut on main stem then ping up she went, there was poo:blushing:
  3. Just like two guys from the environment agency did ending up with the tree though the windscreen of there landy impailing driver. Imo this is the most dangerous operation a cutter can do and deffo not for a novice tackle every callout is different so is the way people will undertake the job just take your time make well considered actions and be ready to run if she tricks you.
  4. I cover emergency call out for highways have down 8 calls since lunch time yesterday you do get an eye for this sort of stuff and a knowledge of what you can do ie like walk up the back of big old hardwoods to fell out any vertical limbs. Personaly I would start by removing any limbs not under load with on eye to possibly saving a limb in case it did roll and the slowly start to remove load limbs I always talk my plan though with my team and it usually changes as you strt to see how she is reacting remember your escape routes have a second pair of eyes watching at times have a def up listening for sudden sounds etc
  5. Difficult to say with out seeing more officialy its step cut off the root plate and winch it out until its on the deck and then treat like any other fell but for the real world method get in there releive the tension and sned out any way needed slash and death cuts.
  6. I have to wear them company policy and thay are very short supply and my opinion is that there not a scratch on the standard stretch airs the material shows the dirty and thay deterate when wash regular the reflective bands fall off after about 8 weeks. I am a big fan of stretch air kit but these hi-vis trousers are'nt there best.
  7. Very intresting i am comiting to buy a 576xp auto tune next week so keen to know what husky say sounds dire to me hope it gets sorted asap
  8. :thumbup:Thank you for posting my veiw is that the its good to try different/new methods however, my big hangups are firstly the damage caused to the lawn must have been considerable and an accurate fell from the ground i feel would have resulted in less damage to the lawn and only a narrow section of the hedge would need attention. Secondly all that kit rope, block, rope to connect block to anchor has been loaded to ??? who knows what load ??? in the rules herein the uk that kit is now scrap I respect your intentions by posting the film but feel that the method used has no real application there are meany i feel better ways this could have been dealt with. Please these are my opions and base on what i observe if there is any ill feelings caused my apoligse but if you put yours balls on the block expected the chop.
  9. If its been in there along time she's.original and all there I think that you'd be amazed by what beetles are getting. I am a vw nut and have a side line in reproduction panels for watercooled dubers. my advice would be get it running leave all the surface rust and get it on the road people love that patina look, nice find
  10. Personal I would use either a router or circular saw to make a clean groove and glue in a thin slither of the same material.
  11. I have tried alpacca fire logs there s**t. Sorry couldn't resist a giggle
  12. Be intrested in how you get on with that winch, if anyone has ever used a winch will KNOW how usefull thay are neat job.
  13. Had a client comment about a sheen on her patio after we had blown site but as Steve said worry not its a tiny amount.
  14. Not arb but my father inlaw was asked to be an expert witness by the crown in his industry, the rewards are substanial but thay ripped his knowledge to bits and questioned his experiance to be sure of his expert status. it sounds like a a great job but for my opinion when it comes to it your words could condem a man in my fathers case there was no fatalities just a multi million pound refinery destroyed and subsequint compensation, My father inlaw spent about two months on the verge of a brakedown before the case due to the pressures he felt to compile eveidence etc.
  15. What about a demolition company with a grab might be more understanding loading fires than a plant operater ????
