  1. i wish they were standard fare in oz.i have never seen one with a chipbox and mewp here .Most companies run separate chip trucks
  2. bad news for logmaster i'am afraid, seems they went into voluntry liquidation on the 19th of december .There is a thread about it on the forestry forum
  3. bit late now but greasable pins/bushes are best for that application
  4. absolutely even my homemade version (same harken winch)though i do tend to use it with a drum mostly now
  5. have a look at PK Trucks website in Holland prices seem quite reasonable Alot of the latest landcruiser utes are V8 diesels i have an HJ47 Landcruiser 4 ltr 6 cyl 1983 model it had a 10 year refit in 2000 and now needs another they are fairly rough to drive and not good on fuel economy its just about stuffed but i love it:thumbup1:
  6. spelt jarrah
  7. jee that bloke sure was determined.Even a pair of chaps may have helped.
  8. debris getting into the belts/sheaves leads to the eventual death of them
  9. i've been using single Gates 'Predator' belts on my laski since we upgraded to a 35hp briggs.work great zero stretch and you can get them in matched sets:thumbup1:
  10. i have a 1994 1250 turbo with a perkins 3.9ltr 101hp T4.236 engine Hydr P551551 Donaldson engine oil P554403 Donaldson might be of some help
  11. labourers who work on the ground yes From the sound of it the original posters groundies are labourers?not arborists
  12. This is about groundies not arborists i would'nt expect anyone to run on any of my sites. Most sites here have room to run a loader so my groundy (who's in his forties and doesnt have to be told what to do and gets paid very well ) generally does'nt have to drag much brash . i have employed a fair few young blokes as groundies and generally found them to be un interested in the job at hand,no get up and go, piss poor at time keeping and only on site for the money.Older people work better over here. They seem to be able to handle the heat (40 degrees plus now) and hard conditions better than the young guys of today(in my experience)
  13. sod the workers get a loader with a bmg,I never have to whinge about the worker not running to/from the chipper. Seriously.Forget about trying to employ 18 year olds .Stick to older workers 40 plus.they seem to be more grounded answer to the original question.Yes but not if your smart.
  14. schaffer articulated loader only 1250mm wide lift much more than a dingo/kanga/toro and do no ground damage when turning:thumbup1:
  15. must add.you can still get completely rat assed and still not get a headache
  16. a shelf ornament only
  17. Not much good for an existing hangover.Drink low carb premium beer.drink as much as you like never get a hangover:thumbup1:
  18. i have run multi tip for quite a few years on a modified laski f500H. Havent snapped any teeth, but have snapped the bolts off. With heavy use the wheel will wear quite a lot and i have had to re build it several times.
  19. Supposed to be winter here.Yesterday where i was working had the highest in the state 36 degrees.
  20. ive got a 4wd canter short wheel base tipper very nippy with a turbo 4.5 litre engine but a bit rough in the cab off the beaten track.can carry 3 ton and tow 3.2 ton
  21. All jokes aside,it is very easy to become dehydrated and while its not likely to happen with a British summer plenty of fit healthy people over here in Aus have died out bush.some in less than 24 hours strangely someone also died recently in Tasmania by drinking too much water while out bushwalking
  22. i just bought a 2005 canter 4x4. A marked improvement on my old one can legally carry about 3 ton and will tow 3.2ton mines a short wheelbase and is very bouncy without a load on i think the latest model is rated to tow 3.5 ton
  23. The schaffer 2026 ive got is only 1250 wide has a seat and whilst it cant zero turn it will do a very tight 3 point turn if you have to plus no ply required.I am running turf tyres will also pick up/drag much bigger pieces than a dingo/boxer one truck i currently run is a 6 ton payload. tray width is about 2400 inside and can carry the loader and stumpgrinder side by side
  24. same thing happened to my 27hp kohler on the Laski.Stator flew to bits distributing magnet parts thru out the engine about 3 years ago.once i got all the bits out i have just ellected to charge the battery when it needs it.
  25. the best tool for any little loader is the BMG (branch manager grapple) hands down beats forks,4 in 1 buckets etc fantastic for feeding the chipper, loading logs over the side of the truck and placing them in the tray Most of the time i load logs into the rear of the truck held straight out in front of the loader:thumbup1:
