  1. Not Questing your mechanical knowledge but I doubt fitting those belts properly would take anyone 15mins. Unless the method to tension and align them is very easy on the machine. My old Bandit 2150 was a major pain to change belts on. Mainly because one of the engine alignment bolts was a nightmare to get tools on to. That, and it had two sets of belts which both had be realigned when either set had an issue.
  2. Wait till you get a bit a bit of time on the machine and the efficiency really shows. Tip rope on large rigged pieces, grab the butt before it hits the floor and drive away. Having everyone on site be good at operating is the key, saves people buggering about putting tools down or putting things in the way. Whoever is closest gets on it and does whatever needs to be done to keep everything flowing.
  3. I've got the JE Intercooler and remap on a 2.2 Night and Day is the difference. Couldn't have a standard one now. It tows over 3 ton nearly every day
  4. I flatted a double once on an MX bike. Cracked the gearbox on landing and used this to pack it. Filled her up with oil and it was out again the next race an hour later. I never fixed it properly and it ran for another year with JB weld in the hole. Amazing it worked at all, not even a hint of oil loss once
  5. Copy cat Gladiators are the only trousers worth wearing. I only went red because that's what the Europeans all wear and I figure they know more about fashion!
  6. Mr Vermeer, What is the difference with the CTX mini skid range? I can see some visible differences but why would you have a CTX100 over an S800 or vice versa? Thanks

    Wages

Why would your accountant be claiming more than the required capital allowances to get you down that low. Surely its more efficient to skirt just under the threshold?
  8. Remote control option for it? Roughly how much will the 38hp be? Do the tracks expand, looks a bit narrow for any slopes? Thanks
  9. Schliesing documentation says 680kg. But it is side mounted so probably easier to lift than a 800-900kg inline chipper.
  10. Jensen, Timberwolf, Greenmech This is quite a cool little chipper for a compact
  11. If employers are all doing so well then why don't you setup, employ a couple of guys and see how long it is before you feel the constant urge to strangle someone/cry/drink to numb the pain. Sometimes all at once. Posts on this thread should be prefaced by the employment status of the author. Though that wouldn't be any fun.
  12. You can buy the little tips from Germany (that's where I used to order mine from) and just braze the tips on to the existing steel. Saves a fortune, from memory the tips were about £1 each.
  13. I've only amended it slightly As for that Jomoco guy. If you wrote less riddles, I might have half a chance at understanding what you are trying to convey. Also, how many universes do you think there are?
  14. The only issue I can see with putting one is a pickup bed is how much load it applies to the tailboard when running up the ramps. snapping or buckling the tailgate when you are on the ramps as well will make a mess. Maybe look at the 2wd dmax single cabs. They are much lower to the ground than a normal pickup and would be easier to load the machine on. Other than that you just strap it as normal and crack on.
  15. Sitting down is always a bonus! However stepping on and off easily to grab the saw and the tracked machines stability, pushing/pulling power had the edge for me. I pondered for a while over a wheeled machine and bought the vermeer. Of course having both would be the ideal solution the ground damage vs pushing/pulling power problem.
  16. You could buy a cheap tractor unit with a big crane for not much money and use that instead. Would be a lot easier than whatever contraption you are envisioning.
  17. No Idea if they are any good. They certainly look well thought out. The little one on tracks with the turntable and single feed roller looks brilliant and it would fit in the back of a van!
  18. None of them will go through a 29inch pedestrian gate. Pretty sure that Toro in the photos will be 35inch wide and the Vermeer 725 is about 35inches wide.
  19. It's always wet and foggy up there. Great fun on a bike if you get the chance. Looks like the sort of weekend where you come back feeling relaxed and having achieved something.
  20. Syndicates usually work out at at 100-500 pounds a day. Sky is the limit for one off peg shooting or buying a whole day. £500 - £tens of thousands
  21. Are you counting time spent on here and doing paperwork/quotes? If so, almost all small business owners do the same hours. Nothing special there
  22. No takers as yet. Have a look at my instagram @treeworx1 to give you an idea of what we get up to
  23. Really? I think there is only one in the UK and you need a HGV to put it on. It would do a months worth of stumps with the predator in a morning.
  24. Whilst the French are far from perfect........... Where my brother lived they had a milk machine in the town center. You took your own bottle. Put in a Euro (or however much it is) and it gave you some very fresh milk. In fact, about the best milk I have ever had. Whilst this little story seems pointless, there is a point. Capitalism is working and the local supplier sells for the price he wants direct to the consumer. This is of course no way to feed and 60million people but farmers have got to do something for themselves instead of constantly moaning about the price of this and that. They need to become efficient businesses rather than messing about, like a lot that I know seem to. If we keep allowing them subsidy you are essentially perpetuating the problem through the generations. To paraphrase Ron Swanson "Capitalism, gods way of separating the rich from the stupid" Although the subsidy skews this unfairly when comparing agriculture to almost any other business
  25. Hi, I am looking for some self employed help indefinitely. Ability to climb well is useful but not essential. If you want to learn to climb or lack experience generally that is also fine. Work ethic is more important to me than current skill set. To start as soon as possible. Based near J18 of the M1 and J1 of the A14. Basic tickets for saw use required, more tickets are always useful. Work is a mix of trees, stumps, hedge work and commercial site maintenance. Must have own transport. Payment at the end of every week or day. Rates of pay will be individually discussed. Please contact me on 07738411919 Thanks Jonathan
