Haas, 4srt footloop ,pantin, 4srt neck tether and a RW would be less than £300 ..as long as your climbing line is not from the 90’s that is ... if you want to add every thing and the kitchen sink it would still be hard to spend £800.

Pretty sure Steven said he can get parts ,If you want to take the risk though I’m sure I have a meteor ring I can drop off at Stevens for you. Personally I would rather put a genuine one in though.

I have never seen it on 550’s and 60’s before , so the 560 I’ve just rebuilt and the others should have had sealant as well as gaskets in place ?

You will have to go to Dickinson’s in Hexham mate surely just a new ring will fix it ?? I may even have a spare 550 ring but it’s possibly not a genuine one will check in the morning.

Big shot mate , and use a tip tie easy to isolate a limb if you hit good target and play with a 16oz bag on the other end to get a nice line route.. I only use base anchors if the tie in looks dodge or I could not get in where I wanted and will usually go in for a tip tie unless it’s just for a couple of branches.

I think it comes in to its own on large spread trees , a lot easier to move and get a good swing out on to the tips with a single line and there is no branch friction from rubbing lines also redirects make a whole new realm to climbing on awkward limbs.

I just use a side strop like I would Double rope but most of the write ups seem to talk about using two climbing lines for positioning SRT. Does take a bit of getting used to if your conditioned to climb double rope I think especially coming back in off limbs as your so used to holding half your weight in the rope and pulling your self in that way the whole balance thing feels wrong .. I find coming back in off a long limb that if I clip on my tending tether it helps drops rope slack and keep your knots /device where they should be instead of dangling by your knees giving you a lot more comfort.. I think once you get used to it and it clicks you will enjoy it , I spent at least a year transitioning between the two and was doing a lot of Rec climbing at the time.

Continuous talk mate , can get annoying if they are using saws ! I just clip the receiver on the back head band , put one ear piece in the helmet muff the other with the mike is velcroed on to the inside of the lid so you can’t hear from that one but have not found it to be an issue.

I use the same and you definitely can’t complain for the money , only issue is you can only pair three sets but to be honest we only use two any way when rigging, I love them, no shouting brings so much less stress to the job being able to calmly talk through what needs doing.

Yes mate ,maybe a bit of a weird idea I had to keep weight down on my hook kit but gave me some thing to do for the afternoon and cost barely nothing as you can get rope wrench spares for under a tenner From Tree stuff, and you just trace the original RW outline on some sheet and mark the holes and maybe modify the shape a bit... I figured as It won’t be treated like a main line wrench and used heavy and more carefully whilst in use as you don’t want to dislodge that hook on great swings and knot burn out decent it will be good , works fine though and hasn’t really worn at all.

Use it SRT style for traversing , not a massive fan of the captain though find the throat to small but it does throw nice.

Had quite a couple of the stein saw strops break prematurely just putting a saw down , they seem to have sorted that one out but good to know it would work !

I would rather have a Jake any way with the terrain up here. Winching and stacking on some of the slopes I thought it would of been handy on to have a crane mount it would of disappeared off the sides .

Sounds expensive Jonny so hope it’s not ,ours was a steal until it turned out it needed a new clutch. You not tempted seeing as it is at Wilson’s to give them a bit more for that roof mount at the same time ?? You know Christmas is coming up and all

Yes mate , with the gate off as it’s quick in easy to get saws on/off like quick draw McGraw ! They break once in a while prob do one every two years or so but worth it IMO?
