  1. Aye bill but that faltimer will last you a life time or till it gets misplaced or stolen ! Gonna try one out for that price.
  2. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F401358885647 Any body tried these ? Looks worth a try.
  3. [emoji23] was definitely not after Paul.
  4. Hi Paul ,it was a stem definitely under 75 mm at 1.5 m so would not of even been covered even in a conservation area, my thinking was I was doing it a favour after crushing it rolling an ash top out on to it , I don’t think you could even see it from the tree. As it was an LA job any way I think they where just making a point about being more careful.. Maybe I was not paying enough attention to peter Annette’s lecturers back in 95 ! But I’m sure he said also that any planted trees/shrubs in a TPO area are protected but I imagine Chris has probably a lot deeper more recent knowledge than me on the subject so stand to be corrected.
  5. My only experience of near prosecution was damaging a hazel reducing an ash in a woodland TPO i made the point that its a shrub and the TO made the point that I needed his permission to have cut the stem off I had damaged which led me to my reply. I was kind of under the impression after that any woody plant was protected all young trees, hazel shrubs etc.
  6. Interesting because I’m pretty sure I was told the exact opposite when I studied tree law. Are blanket TPO’s and woodland TPOs different things just to clarify?
  7. Kind of agree with huck I’m afraid .. I’m not sure how coming to the conclusion that was expertly rigged or cut has happened,in that vid we have a guy dropping stuff 2 metres or more negative rigging.. creating loads of unnecessary force on a already compromised tree also which is the best way to snap a rope , damage a block and strop..or rip out a stem I just didn’t get it sorry... every time I negative rig I make it an absolute priority to keep the block as close to the cut as possible to minimalise these forces.. Looks like he could not be bothered or could not tie it on higher to lesson those forces.. which one I don’t know. Yeah I’m one of these who will pick things apart but I have seen and done snapped out rigging points, ropes and damaged blocks doing exactly that in the vid so I’m feel I can lay that opinion out to save save others from making the same mistakes which could be very costly to life and property and reputation.
  8. Got to be a wind up .. that’s some of the most appalling cutting and rigging I’ve seen in a while.. I’m out.
  9. Both make processing 100 times easier especially if you load the deck with a crane.
  10. As mark says a TPO covers any woody plant so wether it’s a tree or shrub is irrelevant..you can’t touch it end of ... unless you have obtained written permission.
  11. Just a tune up really mate.. last time it was really badly out of tune...that’s what my invoice says ! Suppose I need to get myself an echo tuning screw driver! You forget after using auto tune that they do need a bit of adjustment now and then.. used to have those orange stihl screw drivers hidden every where when running 020’s!
  12. Not overly impressed with the 2511 carb though...great saws I’ve owned 3 now but they require some fettling which I leave to my dealer.
  13. I would not say it was thrill seeking but escapism for many, from mental or physical abuse or alcoholic parents , the thrill seeking ? It’s just feeling safe and escaping with friends maybe peer pressure for some .... I have met a few weird fuckers who do it for the thrill but would not say that was why any of my mates got it to drugs /drinking and sniffing solvents when we was kids.
  14. That’s good to know Tommy , I’m not sure if because it has front linkage additional spoils can be added ? Is any one running rikos forestry spec AGT? Another question though for anyone with an answer is do you need a reverse box to use the front PTOs on the AGT ?
  15. Looking at getting a timber trailer for ours but have a few thoughts. How are folk powering the hydraulics for cranes , we have a rear pto but can’t see any hydraulic outlets that would suit a trailer , our AGT has front pto so thinking an auxiliary tank running off a t could be a solution before getting a power pack. Also would wheeled drive for the trailer be a good option ? Looking at the riko 330trailers.
  16. https://www.skylandequipment.com/husqvarna-eyelet-groundsaw-strop-connection.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIwfGUhv7A3wIVBJztCh1seg9qEAkYASABEgK2RvD_BwE This ?
  17. Husky did them or do , seen them on sky lands website a few years back.
  18. Have you got the bar clamped on the nose sprocket too tight or around the area with too much pressure can cause a few sparks!. I do have and keep meaning to fit the auxiliary Oiler kit on the 880 when using the mill , have found it defiantly does not provide proficient flow as standard and blues bars and chains easily.
  19. Good winch swinny ,what I use now and probably all the winch you will ever need and less than half the price of new.. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F264062401944
  20. The local economy is loosing hundreds of people every year who spend thousands on fishing tourism , most folk I know who have religiously visited Scotland and Ireland for years spending thousands a trip on hotels and ghillies and dining out are stopping as there are no more wild fish. Even the EPA recommendation is not to eat farmed salmon more than once a month as it’s that toxic. I find it odd that you think reconstructing an industry to stop it damaging wildlife , the environment and welfare of farmed animals is anything on the level of driving a car or truck.
