  1. Aye mate , nice saw ..... probably the loudest saw I’ve used ... ever , that video gives no justice to the DB it produces ! I have made a point to spud that I like my hearing for future saw tuning reference! Didn’t you get the exhaust stateside and spud did the porting ? Seem to remember it had no baffler at all and was just straight through with twin ports.?
  2. Whippet with beddlington terrier ... apparently!
  3. Thing is ...after the 572 ,560 I would say two years if they are saying end of this year. What are your sources for that too as all the dealers I’ve spoken too say there is nothing in the pipe line. Cheers [emoji1303]
  4. Any thing close over roofs I’ll balance it and pull it up and over in smallish bits that a groundy can lift or go big and crank it up on the lowering device , still with a tag line to stop it spinning and gain a bit of control to guide it in to the DZ will help. Kind of like this
  5. Thing I remember bout that 3120 is it permanently burning off the plastic chainbreak ... not much fun with a dodgy clutch spring up a tree! They should of put a metal one on, I seem to remember those being adjustable too , definitely a wheel of some sort of my first 266.
  6. 3120’s have been husky’s biggest saw for around atleast 30 years .... maybe time for a new model... I hope they do. My old man with his late 80’s , newish 3120 sporting the standard ppe of the time ear muffs ,vest ,jeans and Oregon greens.
  7. Didn’t think the 661 was a bad saw but Was really surprised to hear that there was no 595 or 590 in the pipes, Mark your the second dealer to tell me that so will take it as a given...
  8. Probably in the next few weeks...I’ll get it out and give you a shout.
  9. A genuine 288xp??
  10. The old landscaper with an injury who was once a climbing expert ! think you made the right call without winching it ... ash under compression this time of year will usually barbers chair. Maybe it’s best to go away and have a think about the job get the gear staff and plan sorted and go back. I would probably go rig and tag line.
  11. I think the last ones came off production line in the last few months .... was toying with the idea of a new 395 whilst my local shop still has some but fancy something more modern... hopefully picking up a used 3120 soon though.
  12. Small saws yes , especially top handles but this 460 just chucked it out the back like it wasn’t there... maybe in a kick back scenario or run down it would of ? Even made a few more cuts before coming down and taking off the clutch cover and bar ... there was a little bit of thread wrapped on the drive sprocket but it had gone through every layer of Kevlar in the trousers like it wasn’t there.
  13. Once dismantling an oak in blizzard iconditions with a 460 on a 25” bar the wind was blowing saw dust straight back under my visor so I was sort of doing a cut virtually blind... I think I had dropped down in to a crutch to give my feet a rest off the spikes so was in a bad position too... the only thing that made me stop cutting was feeling snow on my leg as the 460 was eating the trousers and pulling them up my leg and was just throwing the Kevlar out the back that I also noticed with my squinty eyes .. I think I had also misjudged how baggy the trousers where and had maybe pinned them selfs a bit higher than my actual knee was but basically that saw would of just carried on cutting regardless... tbh I was glad it was snowing after that.
  14. I would use a pinto than a hitch climber , rated a lot higher. Hitch climber 36kn pinto 50kn hitch climber is ok on double rope loading but not sure how much I would trust it on a single pull... maybe I’m being well to over cautious!
  15. Would you really want to have an argument with a mini diggers hydraulic power , cold steel and hydraulic power versus flesh and bone? ... if they had another mini digger on site it would of been a good fight [emoji23] Any way coming from some one who lays an opinion on everything and hides behind a pseudonym is a bit rich.
  16. Ascending SRT is a start ,next time you have a big dead wood try the whole thing SRT and there is no going back... the zig zag I found good zero sit back but I always went back to a hitch , never thrown ropes with krabs on really always a monkeys fist for the weight, your knacked if you miss and it gets jammed in the wrong fork or some epicormic growth.
  17. They are still high money for old trucks I think bill , the ones I’ve looked at have been ,the is lwb gs are plated at 3.5 t not sure of the land cruiser? .
  18. Pm me a price please.. how old and condition.
  19. I really would like to get my hands on a tatty lwb and cut it up for a tipper pick up.. fetching silly money though!
  20. Discovered the hilarity of watching a lurcher run on ice ! big bounding goon! She still won’t sit in a tractor cab.
  21. Pete’s your man josh ! Personally I would never buy ex hire again unless it was at a really good price or I could check the internals properly ... if it was a good price making sure maybe for peace of mind getting a proper bearing shaft/rotor rebuild, anyway... I had a 40hr TW150 ex hire that needed a full rebuild at 150hrs, you can only imagine the shite that gets chucked through a hire machine... then again maybe it was down to the dealer I brought it from who I would certainly avoid if possible in the future. Keep an eye on Greenlays In Cramlingtons website for TW Chipper’s ,that’s if your looking to go Timberwolf, they have the best and most thorough chipper mechanic in there workshop I’ve encountered so far... he has our 2002 150 running like a Swiss watch!
  22. Can you not drive one back from the U.K. josh ? Like a decent low hour second hand machine.
  23. Looks more mauve than pink Steve ....
  24. Confused mate , done about what???
  25. Soft wood is fetching good prices , there is a massive shortage of saw logs too so don’t right it off as chipwood ... saying that even chip woods making good prices
