  1. What about if we had stuck to the first guide lines issued before lockdown we would not of had it in the first place. Last weekend we had hundreds of people turning up to local beauty spots that have narrow paths down ravines to them , you can’t distance on those paths and neither are any of the toilets open or pubs etc so what shops where open where rammed with visitors , that’s just selfish.
  2. Absolute total selfish bollox.. people going out in to isolated communities because they think they have the right to do what they want have really shown what total (nuts people can be. I had a fella telling me this week it has brought out the best in people .. in some ways yes but all I have seen is people using it as an excuse to push there own agendas, political or opinions , showing how they don’t give a damn by taking as much as they can for them selves ,going and doing things they should not and ignoring any advice or guidelines as they think they are superior .. sad thing is this virus is something that will never go away and probably has changed human society for ever and this is only just the start.
  3. Yep they are lethal ! Too many horror story’s!
  4. Ben I’ll give you £600 for the lot
  5. People are mental when it comes to shit saws though... I’ve seen it myself when I’ve sold them , £200 for a non running 261 ! ... even if they went all for £50 that’s still £750... just don’t forget your postage.
  6. I’d stick them on eBay , probs get a minimum of £60-100 a saw and more for stuff like the 084. There is over a grand in it I recon if you do it like that , I’ve sold a few lots of junk saws and it surprises me what they go for.
  7. The roads and streets are not littered with tons of shit from McDonald’s which is nice...
  8. Have hundreds of meters of stock netting lying around so made a few like this for house logs , only costing time and nails it’s not too bad although the down sides are you won’t get a full load in one and you have to use fresh or decent pallets or they last 5 minutes.
  9. Done a couple of 550’s and they where easy and still going a year on ,just take ref pics to see what goes where and had no problems... I usually bin the spark arrestor as soon as get my hands on one though.
  10. Convert it , no worries ... I’ve always done mine and my 550’s , it can mean a bit more wear on running gear though if your running them hard though.
  11. I was looking at the Sugihara bar catalogue and the large mount for the 372 went through a listing of load of old school saws and the 262 was not on it... those small mount 3/8’s are a bit harder to come by as I use them on 560’s and 357’s and from memory the 262’s I ran over 20 years ago so it’s a bit hazy where on small mount too.
  12. Came across one this afternoon in the middle of the road peddling along taking selfies... I did feel the urge to whilst over taking shout peddling ponce at him but Calm got the better of me... same road but of road a few weeks back whilst moving timber in the tractor there was hundreds out I had them weaving in front of me and like they where on some speed trial whilst I was trying to take entrances in to Feild’s off the road.. they really boiled my pish that day... sit back just like we have too every time we come across you in a car [emoji35]
  13. Aye the Italian cypress (cupressus sempervirins )would be a good bet , looks like slightly different foliage from what’s in the photo but you really can’t tell!, I have a load my dad grew from seed he got from Italy that look like this close up.
  14. Not a big ornamental conifer expert but At a guess try chamaecyparis columnaris on a google search ... Chamaecyparis lawsoniana Stardust (Lawson Cypress) Practicality Brown WWW.PRACBROWN.CO.UK Chamaecyparis lawsoniana Stardust is a conical cypress with yellow leaves that turns bronze at the tips. is a good start. Would say it’s chamaecyparis (cypress) over thuja (western red cedar) or a leylandii variety of conifer any way.. you really need to see the foliage close up as there are many columnaris of different species to choose from. In the small chance you are near the village of Arlesey roger griffin Amenity Trees - Conifer Tree Specialist Nursery, mature tree specialists supplier in bedfordshire, hertfordshire, london,UK WWW.ATCONIFERS.CO.UK amenity trees are a long established conifer nursery known for quality of stock & first class service If roger is still going he is an absolute conifer expert.
  15. Owning a successful business ...there are those that are good at making money and can see how to make profit and those that are shit.. I’m definitely the latter and no businessman, I would do work for bad prices because I don’t feel confident to ask for more or know I can do it quicker when it should be more ... I’ve recently discovered that going out and pricing with two of us is the best way , I say how long it is going to take and what gear and I walk away at that point then the other sticks to a rate and does not knock off because they feel sorry for the client or want to help them out or do work for the sake of working as I’m terrible like that..
  16. I would not mind a 8050 at all... those MX loaders are off in three minutes but takes about 15 to get the trailer hydraulics out the back window! ,ours has a loader and I rarely put it on but it has been great at the minute for carting around over sized stuff to the log sheds for splitting. Don’t know if you will ever find the perfect tractor though, I would love to put a roof mount on the 6400 but ours is getting on and you could probably spend 5k or more sorting out any of its current issues and it will never be a decent road tractor although I think it actually feels nicer than the Ns on the road..if the our 6400 has had a hard life and if was as reliable as the 101 I would put the trailer on that and run the winch on the 101 and keep it as a loader tractor, log grab and winch would be handy for some of the over sized stuff.
  17. Valtra tractor 121 hi tech with MX loader WWW.EBAY.CO.UK Valtra tractor 121 hi tech MX loader on joystick controls 10,200 hours 3 spools 40kph good tyres all around selling due to upgrade viewing welcome Vat to be added 0.7.9.6.8.7.7.2.3.8.4
  18. What do you want it for ? Pulling or actual working in the woods ? For woods tractors i would be looking at N101’s to N120’s or older 6400’s those bigger valtras although they are great at pulling are thirsty and are not manoeuvrable in the woods even the 101 is remarkably harder to negotiate a Wöod thinning in than 6400.... the older 6400’s seem to hold strong money have a good following and have little computers although the earths on some of the cab switch electrics can be grief as they age but easy and obvious to fix if you know ! The bigger six pots are great if all you do is clear fell but I would live with the 4 Potts if you didn’t have many hills and didn’t tow to much , I use a 101 and it is a little lacking bringing on home large loads of beech up hill... fine in the woods although I could live with the 6400 which is very versatile.
  19. Needs a rope wrench.
  20. I’ve had at least 3 ms200’s do that over the years... easy down when tightening bar studs!
  21. Yeah they are about 4-5 years , they mostly have gone for the broadleaves although they have gone for a few pines along the edges.. I was going to put in for my fire arms myself but that’s all out with the covid thing, I’ve done bits of stalking myself but never actually shot a deer, sat and watched a few from high seats but they where out of season or species been that saved for the German and Dutch shooters.
  22. Ha ha, did yours come with a digital display bill? Last one I brought didn’t and it made pairing a pita
  23. He would go to prison if it killed someone or how far it got pushed by emergency services if they had to respond in the wake of clearing up his feck up especially in these times , how thick can some one be? Further to that how fucking selfish too! .
  24. Excellent post David thank you for your time replying.
