  1. Do you think the mounting plate takes much flexibility/movement out of the boot? Looks an interesting idea though.
  2. Getting frustrated with spiking my rope and a normal foot ascender feels obstructive as its so close to the gaff , this looks the answer!
  3. 35hp tractor is what runs our 9t machine , splitter is ancient atleast 15 years old would not like to guess how much wood it's cut, I think it's only on its second ram as well.
  4. Cure for cancer?? Didn't help Bob Marley much.
  5. Also shipping that's usually another £40, I've ordered on a Monday and had it by Thursday which Is impressive from across the pond and you get a load of free stickers and buffs as well.
  6. Usually pretty quick delivery .... That's cheap as well but there will be import charges, usually about £20
  7. Kolibbri by skylotec is a good bet. Was never a fan of the tree magic the tree motion once adjusted right has been the comfiest harness I've owned though.
  8. 4 I recon .... Last one I've broken had been so rubbed through that removing the branch supporting it caused it to fail, just coiled it up and left it on the pole. Had a lime tree quite a few years back that had a junction box and loads of wires through its crown one had grown over a wire and I did not realise ,tip rigged it and trying to pull it up and over in to the only gap in the crown it gave up very easily again due to been partially damage , client was happy the crackling on her line stopped ,I was not with the bill! Trimming a leylandii hedge with man flue I had a sneezing and coughing fit at the top of the steps using a long reach cutter the fit stopped and I reached up on full revs and cut straight through the wire I had avoided probably ten times before! Just joined that one with a coat hanger coiled as a tensioner mid line, it was still there years later. Think I did one with a cherry picker basket as well after it got caught raising street trees. First one I ever did though was fresh out of college and was told to finish off chogging down a big beech stem that the crew had spent the previous day dismantling and it turned in to an embarrassing learning curve. Turned up to an emergency call out in the dark with an ivy covered mess blocking a road ,hadn't realised it had a phone wire through so chipping up it must of ate quite a lot before we found a wire hanging out the back the machine, finished the job and spent a good few further hours in the dark and cold trying to retrieve wire off the fly wheel shaft.
  9. Exactly!
  10. Did your mate use the primer in the 560 ... Interesting though as on the last relatively hot day up here one of the 261's went pop whilst the 550's carried on going and I now have a tendon sticking out my hand that's probably been rattled out by the 460...
  11. Value for money but they lack movement and are warm also the combi spanner holder is a pita for climbing, removed mine and most of the stitching unraveled along that leg:blushing: Only sipps trousers I've used in a while are the progress which were great although a bit warm and the early innovations but personally like the planner arborist type a just because they seem to be a lot less restrictive bulky and warm although the horrendous price tag makes you think you could of brought two pairs of engelberts !
  12. Like that a lot tony , where are the legs from??
  13. Tracker company would not tell us so it pretty much made it a worthless addition unless you can follow it your self which these days you can but as rover said you can get a scanner off eBay.......
  14. I have reported a chipper stolen with a tracker within 20mins ... Never seen again! Although the site we can presume it went too the police would not go in too any way to recover any thing..
  15. So they didn't get the trailer as it came off?? Sounds good to me !
  16. If you tied the vt on 8mm and 3-2 I used to find it self tended well with the weight on xtc ,but after been on 11mm it's a heavy rope to haul around especially if your re routing all the time like on a reduction or big dead wood but then the draw back to 11 mm ropes and ddrt is I found wearing gloves was the only way to get grip on the rope.
  17. Aye ... I did think that, then again it would be nice to get the weather here and job you could shed that t shirt tan on.
  18. Looked a good climb !
  19. I knew of a few lads doing stupid prices with jensens , the chippers were stolen to make it worse they used a dealer down south who new they were stolen to get parts to keep the machines going , you can't really compete with that when your running a straight business.
  20. Good post mike
  21. Getting chipper and crane envy some nice gear and work fellas. What's the crack with the elm sticks, is big J's new mill that long ??
  22. If any thing access is SRT's best point even to get an anchor for your zig zag then switch over until your confident enough to go the whole climb SRT, that's how I got to grip with it any way.
  23. Fan of jacks I think the thing with any dogs is have a good look at the parents and make sure they are not bouncing off the wall and uncontrollable. Took a lot of time selecting this girl she was perfect, her parents had great temperaments and excellent hunters , despite her having the perfect death flick she was easy enough to train out of it. My current jack is mad but has good recall , if it's a dog not a bitch I would get them snipped ASAP as all the male terriers I've owned have been a nightmare for chasing bitches in heat and fighting apart from my current one , it also made him obedient over night!
  24. 15?? .......One of my old boss's once wisely put it that he got the biggest jobs he's had off the back of doing some of the smallest so they are all worth quoting for.
  25. Cool , Will look in to it then when I take it in and see if they can do it under warranty ...if they have any one capable of fixing it!
