  2. i bet he charged a fortune for that! near me an "artist" put some tree stumps roots up and got payed loads................ it looked like my yard!
  3. being reliable is far more important than being cheap IMHO. i sub for a few companies and cant believe how much **** they put up with from other subbies, turning up late or hungover. i ALWAYS get to site 10 minutes early with everything i need in working order. i dont drink if im working for someone else the next day. im the highest paid subbie round here but im not the best climber and i dont do brash dragging!

that saw looks to be in good condition for its age. a neighbour came to me today with an old 254xp that he cant get to run. i miss my old 254's might see if he will trade it in. either way i'll be fiddling with that 1 night this week.
  5. me and a mate were thinking about doing a course so we could do each others LOLER inspections. What insurance do you need? this company is only 15 miles away from me. http://www.narc.co.uk/coursedetail/TSK1U.html
  6. i got some royal mail gore tex waterproof trousers they are awesome. dont wear them a right lot though. i got a water resistant top made by Wynnster the other day. its like a micro fleece but the outer shell is water resistant only £45. seal skinz socks are great aswell, waterproof, thermal, and breathable. i love mine!
  7. the only pic of todays tree. i didnt realise the camera was in my pick up. i wish i'd of got some progress pics, the anchor points where crap with alot of die back in the crown and half the tree was over a very fancy wall.
  8. that was awesome. they must of had BIG money on that tree.
  9. i got sent this link by my brother and thought i'd post it here. it might be old news but thought some might find it interesting. is anyone here into biomass chipping? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/south_west/7105124.stm
  10. I've got a 361 running 3/8 and a 341 on .325 both 16" bars and the 361 is by far my favorite. the 341 hardly ever goes out. i also run a 20" bar on the 361 while up a tree, it pulls it fairly well.
  11. this is my mates old 16" farmi he has just traded it in after 6 months as he has had nothing but trouble from it. he has a Heizohack on its way now. he runs it on the back of this valmet but is looking at getting a fendt soon.
  12. ive got a 14" on my main 200t and a 16" on my other which i use for conifers alot. have a few 12" bars knocking around somewhere.
  13. first cd was the complete stone roses last was the good the bad and the ugly sound track.
  14. i get grippy gloves at about 50p a pair 100 pairs at a time. the only other gloves i buy are welding gloves for thorns.
  15. count me in. sounds good. richard if you want a lift down we could probably go in my car and save some fuel.
  16. i pass all my stumps onto 2 local companies, in return i do all the climbing for 1 lad and all the larger climbing jobs for the other. i could have the use of an RG20 free of charge from 1 of the companies, id rather stick at what im good at though.
  17. i'd get the 361 over the 341 anyday. same weight more power, 361 wins hands down. ive got a 20" bar for mine normally it runs a 16" though.
  18. depends on the chain. i was buying sarp chain @ £190 per 100' including postage and VAT. that would do about 30 chains @ 13" or 15" i think. should be able to get a riveter and breaker for £100 + VAT. its easy enough to do.
  19. i sell chain and use it myself, i've got no problem with either stihl or oregon.avoid jak max at all costs it awful.
  20. looks good high scale, bet it was a nice peaceful day for a change.
  21. your right roller, i planned to make loads of money doing tree work still not happened!
  22. it also has to be over 3500kg. its then classed as a crane.
