  1. just a quickie but how many builders/landscapers do you know with a ticket for a stone cutting saw?

  4. i dont think the average customer sees a climber 1 handing a saw and says "wow what a cowboy, wish i went for a higher quoting company" the customer doesnt care as long as its cheap and no damage is done.
  5. that's what I thought ed. I only spent 2 weeks there 2 years ago but had no problems at all over there. I've got an open job offer over there in munich if things go **** over here (which is highl possible) alex what are we missing?

  10. bob if some one tells me to make a mess quickly and then i can go home im not going to argue. ive worked on the ground for a very very low wage, the groundies who work for me have it easy normally.
  11. ive been subbed in to climb for companies to get a tree down quickly. ive recomended lowering to make it easier for the groundies but been told to just get it down in big lumps into a beck. needless to say i did as i was told pissed everyone off but the boss and went home at 1pm it took them 2 days to tidy up after me. i'd definately rather be up the tree gravity works for me that way.
  12. a good climber should know the time and place to use different techniques. i know a climber that wanted to speedline EVERY tree.
  13. i hope you get plenty of work for that rig roller. it must be good to help trees for a change unlike alot of our work.
  14. penrith aint that bad i spent 2 years there at college. im at carnforth just 5 junctions down. if you ever need a hand give me a shout.

  16. i charge £250 a day for myself and chipper when subbing to other companies. i know a local lad who is very cheap. he works 7 days a week and struggles, i charge alot and work 4 days.

  20. ive only ever worked away in germany for 2 weeks. paid tax when back here. i think if your in 1 place for more than 6 months you start paying tax there. i would go back in a heart beat. if you want the contact details for a company in munich let me know.

    ive had a female friend dragging brash for me recently. she is great especially at the tidy up. i'll try and get some pics of her next time she works. very easy on the eyes.
  22. mines been like that since new! i can get it to work but you really need to push it hard.
  23. not done them. managed 8 years without them so far. was thinking of doing them this year, mainly for insurance reasons.
  24. i set off to work this morning at 4am. i was subbing for a company on the railway in Machynlleth, supposed to be 2 or 3 days work. Got there after 31/2 hours driving sat in my van for another 3 hours. had to sit through a site induction, did an hours work and got told thats all they had for me. fu(ked now but at least i can take it easy for a few days.
