  5. i had a makita top handled saw when i set up 8 years ago. it lasted me over a year, it was a bit gutless but it earnt me money. think i paid about £200 cos it was ex display and sold it for £100 so im not complaining.

    MS 650 or 660

    i had mine sent back to stihl last time, ive never paid for any of the work done to it, even though its out of warranty. i take my 372 out more just cos its so reliable.

    i have a 650 and it is on its 3 rd carb and second piston its two years old and doesnt get used alot at all, ive had nothing but trouble with it. id get a 660 definately!

  12. glad your hols were good ive just applied for my shotgun cert. i should get it. cant wait to blast things instead of using my air rifle.
  13. i've just landed a felling job 2 miles up from my house at a quarry. the rate isnt great but i should get a couple of months work out of it. looking at getting a website built by my brother in law at the moment. maybe do a bit of landscaping for mate aswell if i have to.

  15. im up north and get £400+ for a 2 man team and chipper there are alot of companies about but most are chasing big contracts and doing piss poor work.
  16. my mates old man had a double ended 088 for milling, he had loads of trouble with it. i think it was something to do with 1 not picking up fuel cos of being on its side and siezing up? would that make sense?
  17. i spoke to a police man about this and he said your ok defending your property unless they are running away................. im well armed and would use force to protect my gear, right or wrong i dont care.
  18. awesome! that is a tiny bar for such a big saw. hope she runs well for you. what fuel mix do the older saws run on? is it still 50:1?
  19. thats cool what is it an 070 or 090? my mate is sorting me out an 070 over christmas for planking.
  20. my groundies are on between £60 and £150 depending on who i use and what we are doing, the norm is £100 a day.

    just work it out as individual trees or smaller clumps and add together the total. it all depends on the location of the trees and how much work is in each tree.
