  1. Thats an oldie, but probably the best wingsuit video out there. Glad to see it in such good quality though. I'm up for it, any time any place.
  2. Mr Ed

    was this you

I did the same thing when I was 18, but with a 7.5 tonner. Really quite unbelievably stupid, and I would have deserved the sack if we'd been caught. That video was quite boring though, did'nt even raise a chortle or snigger here...

    angry kid

I am no longer the tree surgeon who posts in the angry kid thread. I am now the tree surgeon who says 'Ekke Ekke Ekke Ekke Ptang Zoo Boing'.
  4. I personally would never use wet chip. But if I'm designing a boiler, I want it to be as tolerant of fuel type as possible. I dont want it being finniky and fussy about what its fed.
  5. Indeed. I can't supply you with cheap multitip, but I can supply you with a cracking deal on genuine sandvik teeth...
  6. Thats not your house in that ad Pete. I've been to your house and its a tip.
  7. Why bother with multi tip? have you looked at Sandvik duradisc?
  8. ScottF on the forum here did the MSc at Bangor. PM him for details.
  9. My opinion on the Ifor williams trailer - it would be much better without the stupid little crane. For the price, you would buy the trailer and a mini skid steer to load it with timber.
  10. Some US trucks are registered as HGV over here. They are fitted with the euro compliant air braking systems. Over in the US, I have towed 7 tonnes behind a diesel F250 ford pickup without much bother.
  11. Central boiler is just a crappy yank single pass log boiler. All central heating systems need electricity, as you need to move the heat around.
  12. First one of my own was a ex forestry commision Sherpa (LDV) 400. Great trucks.
  13. It was my line originaly - I can still see the look on your face when I started rigging pieces off that ginormous pop. I think you thought I was just a desk pilot up till then:001_cool:

    4X4 Advice??

My 02 nissan navara would regularly return 32 - 33 mpg, and that was with me giving it a damn good thrashing...
  16. I love the smell of pipes and smoke a steam engine. Or is it the other way round?
  17. Iveco 3.0 engine is an absolute corker. Enormously powerfull. In a landy chassis it would be superb. What it needs is coils on the front and leaf springs on the rear.
  18. In the spirit of the original - I am the Lord your Job. You shall have no other Jobs before me You shall not watch pop idol You shall not make wrongful use of your climbing rope Remember the Sabbath and use it as an extra day to fit in more jobs. Honor your Boss and your customers You shall not kill trees without justifyable cause You shall not use your workmates lifeline as a recovery rope You shall not steal your workmates butties, tea, fags or bogroll You shall not bear false witness against a healthy tree just to have a TPO lifted You shall not covet your customers wife You shall cover anything that you broke at a job with a layer of sawdust in the hope that it wont be noticed till your gone
  19. I'm quite happy with the wheelarch eyebrows and the cab shape. I think they could move the seats + steering wheel slightly inboard, but there you go. I'd settle for a TDV6...
  20. Hmm. its funny how plenty of back shed engineers can install the TDV6 in a defender but the worlds biggest motor company cant... It was an easy excuse to use loads of surplus transit engines. I'm sure it would not have presented to big a problem, after all we've had v8 defenders for long enough. I would love a TDV6 130...
  21. Most of the modern chip boilers can cycle down to 25% output quite easily.
  22. I have a trade account with lombardini. I'll make an enquiry for you.
  23. All you need to burn chip with a high moisture content is a ceramic refractory lined combustion chamber. This ensures that the combustion temperature remains very high. If your combustion chamber temperature is high (700+ degrees), and the chip is introduced down a sloping grate, the rising heat dries the chip out before it combusts. Dont forget that all that rising superheated steam and vapour will both combust and transfer heat into your boiler. Of course, the best thing is to have dry chip, but I want a system that will be highly tolerant of moisture content. If you look at the picture below, youll see the lined combustion chamber and the 3 pass boiler design. The flame never reaches the boiler, its the high temp. combustion gasses that go through.
  24. Thats as cool as a very cool thing. I used a big one a mate made up a few years ago - very powerfull, it was impossible to stall it in the cut, even with a 60 inch bar on it.
  25. Thou shalt make money.
