  1. Fascinating video, I was amazed at some of the stuff this guy has discovered
  2. Richard, you miss my point, yet obliquely answer it. You are still affected by the rising price of the euro due to a lot of your parts having to be sourced in the eurozone - much like most other chipper manufacturers. On the subject of succesive governments destroying British manufacturing, I wholeheartedly agree. We used to be respected for our engineering, and in some small niche markets (woodchippers anyone?) we still are. But any who do succeed do it against all odds, as the help from our government is non existant. Btw, you might still be waiting a while to see my chipper, as chippers are a hobby for me. But its nice to know you care
  3. Nice work? did you meet him? I've heard he's a really sound bloke.
  4. 1st pic, I remember cutting that extraction road into the hillside in the summer - here it is from another angle -
  5. So does the Timberwolf have British built engine? British built Hydraulic components? British built bearings? Steel smelted in British foundry's?
  6. Old Skool Kool here.
  7. Dean, Carlton as a company made an offer to the bandit designer to come and work for them. So its inevitable that Carltons range of chippers will be very similar to Bandits. FWIW, the 1260 Carlton is a much better machine than the Bandit 65. The infeed is much stronger, much better tolerances, no jamming bottom roller, Assymetrical infeed system, bigger motors. The other big plus the carlton has is the finish. much superior to the bandit. I'll stick my neck out here and say that the little carlton is one of the best chippers on the market.
  8. Because the Design engineer from Bandit went to work for Carlton.
  9. My landrovers just cost me £800 with a blown head gasket. Bloody typical.
  10. I've given up. It did'nt taste very nice.
  11. another - http://www.sawlinemachinery.com/?page=1004〈=1&selected=4160
  12. Looks like you used the 'Thorman' technique to me. Very similar to the 'Haine', but usually involves something getting broken
  13. There used to be a german company built HUGE mobile debarkers, costing around £500,000, with twin handleing cranes and massive engines. Company went bust in the early eighties as shortwooding became prominent. The simple US built chain flail debarkers are very good bits of kit, but still very expensive... or here's a good piece of kit, with a little bit of engineering it could be hooked up to a three phase generator and truck mounted - http://tcr-sawmill.co.uk/Valon_Kone_VK600_debarker_complete_with_VK_log_infeed_conveyor_maximum-m-2093.html
  14. Hey Deano, good Job me and thee have Landrovers AND jap 4x4's eh?
  15. My 2100 got stolen in Liverpool. bast*rds....
  16. Love the 394/395, makes a 660 look like its powered by 2 AA batteries.
  17. yeah, you would need a VERY strechy rope to beat the initial inertia... Somebody pass the salt and pepper please.
  18. mmmphfff:001_rolleyes::lol:... (sound of barely concealed mirth) Must have been very lightly stuck. The day a landrover pulls 16 tonnes, I'll eat my own arsehole.
  19. Blethers! Good idea shreky. On another forum there is a 'whats on telly' thread.
  20. The books were bestest. Anybody enjoy Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency? The long dark teatime of the soul?
  21. I have a brain the size of a planet, and I'm still depressed.
  22. Shreky, No. Thats blethers Garth, do you have details?
  23. Nice. I like 'Proper' trucks Where did you get the extra extensions for your crane? it looks like an Atlas 100.2...?
  24. If anyone wants to drop a TW150 into our workshop, We'll do it.
