  1. Its an FL6, not 7... The only thing I dont like is the single wheel rear axle. Not so got for carrying a load. Also, those FL6 4x4's are only a 14 tonner. Stick with Mercedes mate
  2. Mog Vs Truck? no comparison. A mog will break you totally financially, a truck will earn you money. Unless you NEED the offroad capability, A mog will just be a liability, and will cost you X4 times what the same spec truck will. I've owned Mogs, and I admire them from a kit junkie's point of view, but I do not think they in any way justify their outlay cost in comparison to more commonly available trucks. The merc in the classifieds is mine. to get a mog of the same spec and capacity would cost you £20k. The mercedes 814D is one of the very few small chassis 7.5 tonners, most 7.5 tonners are downrated 10 tonners. It will fit anywhere a transit will go, will turn in a tighter circle, will carry 4 tonnes and a 2 tonne chipper at 70mph (quietly) and will reverse up any hill fully loaded without trashing the clutch. Yes, you will need a different license, but hey, you need a license to operate a chainsaw too.
  3. Ah well, thats been in doubt for a while now:bird:
  4. dont be silly. I never drive a handbag to work, I take the tutu.
  5. Might do... not gay though:001_tongue:
  6. Dean, you sound like your overcompensating. Are you sure these things you mention are what you truly desire? Me, I'm perfectly secure with my sexuality. I could go to work in a tutu and a handbag, and not worry about potential 'gayness'.

  10. PAIN IS WEAKNESS LEAVING YOUR BODY. Not got tennis elbow, but I did knock my right elbow about 6 months ago, and now its permanently swollen with bad fluid retention.

Thats nothing, I climbed a tree once that had NO STEM. Honest. Hey sanny, whats that fancy looking HiViz softshell jacket?
  12. I've just re examined the picture and have a nasty suspicion that might actually be Jasons wife. In which case, I offer my apologies for being so embarrisingly crude:blushing:
  13. Take heart Karl. A few months ago I was feeding a 500hp jenz chipper with the forwarder. Unbeknownst to me, the guy who stacked the brash up left various bits of steel and brick in the stack as a 'surprise'. No one was more surprised than the Eddie Stobarts driver sat in his truck 200 feet away when the Jenz spat out a mangled car jack at a velocity powerfull enough to blow it through his front windscreen. Hilarious - chipper 1 stobarts 0
  14. I would'nt quite say that was me sucking up.... The rarity value of steve agreeing with me was worth saving for posterity. I want the award for most arrogant short tempered knowitall smartarse poster, and a nomination for surrealist of the year.
  15. I'm loving the Yale Scorch at the moment, very nice line. Its very like an XTC, but seems to have a tighter weave.
  16. I love intelligent Drum and Bass- [ame]http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=MF_ctZ2M2Hs[/ame] [ame]http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=GrH1Sw4fetk&feature=related[/ame] [ame]http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=5tUCl-WL7As&feature=related[/ame]

The Ephebians made wine out of anything they could put in a bucket, and ate anything that couldn't climb out of one Nature abhors dimensional abnormalities, and seals them neatly away so that they don't upset people. Nature, in fact, abhors a lot of things, including vacuums, ships called the "Marie Celeste", and the chuck keys for electric drills.

Bit harsh I think Hear hear! Has the same effect on me too! Well I think toilet enamel makes a good kite inflator. Blimey. Its all roman to me.
  19. I have had a Mog, and it put me off for life - I have also had landrovers, and despite hating some aspects of them, have just bought 2 more. My issue with Mogs is the price. Due to their rarity, they are priced way in excess of their component value. For a lot of the work we've been doing recently, a 1200 / 1600 mog would be ideal, with a decent chipper on the back. but when I'm asked to pay £15k for a 4x4 thats 25 years old, and worn out, I object. I can get a low mileage 10 year old 1820 mercedes 4x4 that uses heavier or identical components for £6k...
  20. or buy a proper mans truck, and have a crane, chip box, tool storage and everything for half the price of a Mog
  21. Your missus is well fit Jason. does she pull that face at the zenith moment?
  22. check my other recent post:sneaky2:
  23. Just checked my autoroute, and its 3 fookin hours and 160 miles away. so dont expect me, I do enough driving for work during the week. Might arrange another NorthWest meet that actually is west...
  24. I must say, I would be far happier with the crane mounted on the vehicle, not on the trailer...
  25. Sadly, very true. I remember the good old days:001_smile:
